So CKIII has been officially announced, planned for 2020 release date. With that in mind, even though it is early, modding was talked about during the announcement. The Paradox team said they will let modders work on the game early (before the game is released) for certain modders. I know a mod like AGOT is huge, and a lot of work. Does the mod team have any plans to work on CK3? Or is that a project you do not want to take on?

We will convert this mod to CK3 or die in the attempt.

That is amazing to hear if it is of any interest, they said you can contact the developers on the forums, to get early access (being a modder)

Question is how playable and when CK3 in fact will be Maybe Paradox CK devs made some secret work, but new games are usually in fact beta and need many works and expansions I'm very curios about CK3 first impression, becasuse CK2 is great game and will be hard to meet the expectations

A dream come true! Some of my major hopes for CK III that would also relate to the potential AGOT mod for it:
1. Major castles that will be able to restrict the movement of armies (like basically every other modern PDox game), and generally making army movement over long distances/attrition more prominent. So one could properly simulate how difficult it is to pass a large army through the Neck/Boneway, and improving the strategic value of castles located at said narrow passages, like Moat Callin/The Bloody Gate/The Twins/The Golden Tooth. 2. Make sieges more difficult, so that an ill-provisioned army might actually lose a siege against a major castle like Storm's End/The Eyrie/Winterfell. This would have the knock-on effect of making the great houses much more stable and less prone to getting easily wiped out after a single rebellion. 3. Make character locations actually matter, and not have teleporting like in CK II.

Apparently the character portraits are animated now, and very nicely done. The CK3 base game will be A LOT more than CK2 base (but will not include all the DLC content, one thing the developer mentioned in specific is no republics, no nomadic) but CK3 will have MANY features in DLC CK2. They also mentioned having more free features, and less needing many dlc for features. This game has been in development for longer than Imperator, so lots to hope for.

Animated portraits are doom for AGOT portraits. We do not have any 3D artist and never had one. This is one of the major problems with CK3 port. The second one is Megawar. This system is so complicated that it may take few months to recreate it. I hope that we will have some improvements that came to CK2 in latest DLCs like artifacts, duels and looting. It would make it much easier.

I hope you guys are able to get early access to start working on the mod early if that's a thing they're doing.

If there are mesh models being made available for portraits the modding of them might be something interesting for people to look into being able to make specific shapes and such. Same for the texture work, fingers crossed they'll provide those things to be part of the modding experience.
I hope for a more advanced artifact system aswell. Maybe a more dynamic shifting and storing system. Maybe even a few layers for storage so books could be seperated into a library of sorts and perhaps a special artifact can be stored in a secret vault kind of thing.

WOO! All of my experience/self teaching creating character models in Blender and Unity for VRchat wasn't a waste :D

No republics mean no Essos cities and there will be no horse lords...base CK3 will be not very good for AGOt compared will CK2 + all DLC.
Maybe the modders team should start searching for 3d artist soon.

There was entire year between Imperator's announcement and release so we have time. But yeah, once HypeTrain will reach full speed i mean to recruit some new blood.

Honestly I'm ready to contribute and I don't think I'm the only one to have an optimal experience on CK 3 agot.

I work as a 3D designer CAD Tech (i admit however nothing like making characters, but at lease I have SOME experience in 3d design) when it comes to that

They don't make money off the mod, as it would be against copyright and would make them liable to be sued if they did. So they can't ask for donations or anything of that sort. The work they do on this mod is done for free and in their own time. If someone with experience working with 3D were to volunteer and they were willing to take them onto the team, that would be fine.
