I've also tried reinstalling Ck2, AGOT, and DLS and the problem persists.

Something weird I just noticed is if I land him then take his land away his DLS works properly and bastards are spawned both manually and when his dynasty dies. Would this have something to do with code regarding historical houses? I'm unsure why it works if I land him and then take the land away but maybe that gives some indication as to why its wrong. The detection of historical houses is only to give the DLS system at the launch, so there should be no interference.
There really must be something sketchy going on since the bastard decision does not care about the DLS mark. As long as you have checked the "Show DLS" option in Decisions tab, you should be able to give a bastard to any noble character in the game, landed or not.
Even in the coding page it's a very short, straightforward command. I'm genuinely confused.

I am as well because I looked through the code and have no clue what could possibly be causing it it's not like there's anything super complicated in it and a reinstall should fix those issues. I might try wiping all my ck2 files and back up my saves and see if that works but unsure if anything different will happen. I had the mod working just a few months ago when I was last playing no clue what changed. Regardless this is a great mod when it works (most of the time) and appreciate the help!

Sorry I could not help more, tell me if you find why!

I believe I found the issue. I was using DLS on Golden Company members who aren't actually on the map anywhere or have a capital which interferes with the capital scope of the DLS_triggers.txt. I gave them a barony and DLS was working perfectly again.

Oh so that explain why the exiled dynasties on my own game also died. I thought I had forgotten them but I may have the same issue as you. Hhhm, I don’t see an easy fix on this, it looks like the system reacts really badly to not having a fixed location.

Outside of giving the Golden company a random barony there isn't really a fix I can think of since they don't work like a normal mercenary company.

Is there an alternative link to download this submod?
The download link has been updated.
Also, I've tried new changes in the files to finally make the submod working as intended. From my testing it works (meaning that generated dynasties and courtier dynasties don't have DLS, but giving lands to the ones who could, i.e. Orys Baratheon in Conquest activates DLS). Neither any issues with dragons dynasties, but let me know if it happen again.
Thank you all for your patience and feedback.
Does this apply to the 1.4 link you gave above? 1.2 medifaire link does not work for me, so I cannot download it.

Hello everyone, I've did a small update of the mod, with the following modifications: - A new bastard is now created when the last male of the dynasty dies. No more waiting for 50+ years old ladies to die to have a viable new character - If the last living male is 30+ years old, an adult bastard son is spawned. If he was less than 30 years old by the time of his death, the system search a 30+ years old relative to be the parent (like the old system) - If both aren't found, a newborn bastard is born from the last living male of the dynasty This has the neat advantage of allowing single member dynasties with DLS to not have their dynastic tree breaking. And it should also hopefully help a little for the successions. I tried to give DLS by default for some dynasties (the ones who start exiled, like the Mudd, Strong or Toyne), but nothing has worked in my tests. Also, important bug, as discussed above in the thread : the DLS system does not work for courtiers of the Golden Company. I have no idea why, maybe a hardcoded thing related to mercenary bands, but either way, if you want some dynasties there to survive, get them out!

Works great, only problem I've run into a few times is with women's bastards not inheriting patrilineal bloodlines

The update also applies to the manual version?
BTW. It would be nice to be able to add female bastards so that important female bloodlines can be continued (Otherys, Seastar, Black Ally etc.)

I agree with the comment above, it would be great if the DLS system could help keep matrilineal bloodlines alive, possibly by making a second decision for females to mark or simply the ability to spawn in female bastards. Anything to keep their bloodlines alive would be greatly appreciated.

It would be enough to be able to choose in menu whether we want to add a male or female bastard, because some bloodlines can only be inherited from the mother.

The update also applies to the manual version? BTW. It would be nice to be able to add female bastards so that important female bloodlines can be continued (Otherys, Seastar, Black Ally etc.) 1. No, I’ll have to update it as well when I will have time. 2. Good idea, I’ll add the option in the future update.
