AGOT Dynastic Life-Support
DLS v1.5
DLS Redux v1.0 (Only manual DLS options)
TLDR;
DLS v1.5:
- Create a new legit bastard male member of a dynasty once it has died out, if the dynasty has the DLS system on
- DLS is automatically given to historical (canon) houses of Westeros, if they are landed (baronies included)
- DLS is not given to historical houses without holdings at the start of your game (like Mudd, Strickland, Tarbeck... Depending of your start). It is advised to use the manual adding of DLS system at the start of your game, if you want to preserve them
- DLS does not work for courtiers of the Golden Company. They must be in a normal court for some reason
- DLS breaks dynastic tree if it is used after the death of a one-member dynasty (it creates an unrelated dynastic member). It is advised to use the "Create bastard" option so the dynasty has at least two members, should the founder died
DLS Redux v1.0:
- Same as DLS, but DLS system is only manually added to dynasties by the player. To use if you only care about the survival of a handful of dynasties
Hello everyone.
If you like doing long games on AGOT CK2, you may be frustrated of having half of the historical dynasties dying in a matter of a century. I for sure am.
The options are not satisfying either. Cranking the fertility to offset only works for a time, until there are too much characters in the game. Babysitting dynasties is a chore as well.
So I rolled up my sleeves and learnt a tad bit of modding to make an automated system that would do this stuff for me, without chugging my computer: the Dynastic Life-Support, also known as DLS.
The DLS is quite simple. Every historical (landed) dynasty in Westeros (except Wildlings), and every others dynasties you added to the DLS system will be closely watched by the game. When the last member of one of these dynasties die, an adult legitimate bastard is "found" (read: generated) amongst the close relatives of the dead character.
This will not stop titles' conquest and revocation shenanigans, but it should at least ensure that most, if not all, dynasties are always running around somewhere in the game.
If the inheritance allows it, the title will directly goes to the newly created bastard.
If you want to add or remove a dynasty from the DLS system, you first need to enable the menu through the decisions tab.
Then select any member of the dynasty, and enable / disable the DLS system for the dynasty.
You can also create a newborn bastard manually if you want to manage it manually. Bloodlines work normally, as for any birth.
DLS Redux:
Remove the automated addition of DLS to historical dynasties at the beginning of the game, for those who want a lighter version.
The system will still works as usual for the dynasties once they received the DLS. You just need to manually give DLS to the dynasties you want at the start of the game.

Bugs and compatibilities:
Fixed.
DLS not working for courtiers of the Golden Company mercenary band. If their last member is their, the dynasty will die out.
The mod only relies on his own flags and events, so there should be no problem with submods compatibility.
