zz_new_traits (vanilla), zz_new_valyrian_daniel (CO). As long as the /common/trait/ .txt file has a name that alphabetically comes AFTER that, it shouldn't effect the save. Editing old files to add/remove traits, or creating a new txt file that isn't alphabetically last will though definitely.

Any thoughts on how long a Congenital update will take this time? Since the last one was so quick I'd imagine there's a large bit of work to put in here since portraits, Valyrian sword artifact mechanics, and other collectable items have all be changed in 1.6?

Hope its not too hard to make this Sub-mod for 1.6 considering the Valyrian Steel Swords are now artifacts and stuff! But I'm sure with the amazing work you've done in the past it'll be no problem!
Excited to see what you work out, and thanks for the amazing mod in 1.5!

Ah shit, an update? Damnit damnit damnit! I wanted to play video games over the weekend. .. Honestly this update am not sure how long it'll take.. The Valyrian Swords are now part of the artifact system which means that will need something like what... 60 sword artifacts or so? Then figure out how the whole system works lol. Ughhhhhhhh not very happy about this haha.

I've been modding CK2 and the AGOT mod for my own preferences a couple years now, and from my look at the new code it seems the artifact system of Valyrian swords is just a new valyrian_artifacts.txt that defines each new sword. Difficult coding part is the buying/selling of them, which blackninja also hinted at was tricky in the changelog. Hopefully just adding new swords means the market aspect doesn't need to be touched and you just need to swap over the current use of trait-swords into artifact swords!

The update process I plan on starting this weekend. I don't know exactly how long it'll take though.
As an extra little tidbit. I'm gonna need something like 60 sword artifact graphics I suppose. So like anybody up for the task or several people? They definitely need to be of the same quality/style as the ones already in the mod as well. I'm not a fan of mismatching.

I could do the artifact graphics, but just a disclaimer it's okay to edit some of them on stuff from the base game (altering vanilla weapons slightly to match the new sword appearances) right? Or is there some sort of mod rule that says you shouldn't borrow things from base CK2? Coming up with pics from scratch, I wouldn't be confident about matching the high quality or style of the current images exactly. Also, can I assume the Valyrian sword description localizations won't be changing? So I know what each ID correlates to which sword, and what each sword "should" look like.

Just went through the valyrian artifacts in base mod. It looks like some of the illustrations got swapped around a bit from their trait icons (i.e. a sword is now a mace), so it looks like some of the localization files will need to be changed for this submod as well for the names/descriptions to make sense (since IIRC some of the base mod VS swords are altered here). But anyways I probably have time for around 20-25 artifact images, if you're interested. Excluding what's already illustrated in the base mod that's about half-ish of the valyrian swords previously found in Congenital Overhaul. Sadly December/January is a really busy time for rotations as a med student, since most of us are finishing up block exams from one specialty and moving onto a different place all at the same time; otherwise I'd love to do the gfx for them all

I don't believe there is anything wrong with using vanilla artifact assets as a base line. I mean that's basically like doing a "recolor" yeah?
Okay so yeah, I guess lets just break it down based off of like sections where they got added.
Reforgable Swords | New Swords | New Daniel Swords
Or actually I might just leave reforgable ones alone but just switch the names a bit... So Daniels sword is really long, break it in half. First page I have the graphics shown and listed alphabetically. So First group (bloodbloom to lionheart) second group (prophecy to oblivion)
As there are 3 of you, I guess just pick one of those 3 sets to try your hand on. And remember, if I don't like/use it that doesn't mean I'm not thankful.
