I'd like to begin this by apologising to knuckey for disregarding his Suggestions Guide. I would like to ask that this post remain since I do believe there are some good ideas here, but if knuckey or another admin comes along, that they please lock it for future example and for the ideas herein- I simply did not want to clutter the Suggestions page with with dozen+ suggestions I have. Thank you.
•Remove tame a dragon ambition for characters that don't have dragon eggs
•My High Valyrian character who is slowly transforming Volantis into a true daughter of Old Vayria seems to not actually have the black-plate armour that Aegon & his sisters and High Valyrians do. I am wondering what's wrong.
•Books/ Artefacts that lightly increase the life expectancy and growth in Dragons. I don't know if Balerion the Black Dread would have been freakishly large even amongst the Valyrian Freehold, but I've no doubt the Valyrians knew how to coax just a little more out of the Dragons.
•The additional fort level provided by buildings needs to be increased. Without much effort places like Castamere, White Harbour, King's Landing etc. can reach ridiculous levels of provincial income with so little fortified protection and since the AI doesn't raise levies in counties where pirates/ raiders land it can be very annoying.
•Castamere also ought to have a unique building + 5.00 fort level for it's subterranean build which, if not for the lake nearby, could have made the Lannister victory over the Reyne's much more difficult. It's also a fairly unique form of building in ASoIaF AFAIK
•Born of incest children need a reduction of the -opinion they receive. -20 is far too much considering the +5 opinion for positive traits. Keep it at -20 for zealous characters and temple vassals, but lower it to -15 or -10 for feudal and republic rulers.
•Speaking of Castamere, House Reyne was supposed to have been the second most powerful House in the Westerlands at the time they rebelled- and probably for a long time before that too- but I sure as hell don't feel like the second most powerful House. Another province to the north of Castamere, where The Crag currently sits could be an answer and turn the High Lordship of the Crag into a 1 province High Lordship like Gulltown.
•Add options for intrigues/ known plots. Perhaps I don't want any member of my dynasty dying today or- at least- not by anyone else’s plotting. Maybe tomorrow I will. Add dynasty options with protection options for allied/ non-aggression pacts, or even just friends to protect. Imprisonment for being part of a plot. Add options to stop plots when they go above 100% power. Add more intrigue options such as asking your liege/ top liege to intervene in stopping a plot you aren't eager to watch unfold for in return for a favour or some such. And notifying your liege to plots- if he/she isn't already aware of them.
•There are options to not be allowed to marry outside of religions, can we have options to not be allowed marriage outside of culture? I'm rather tired of my HV folks marrying some green-haired Tyroshi and being left with something horrific.
•I don't understand why Storm's End has such a powerful unique building when there's very little to actually support the +60% garrison which is a massive buff, especially late game. Yes, it's a tough nut to crack, but so are so many other fortifications. The Red Keep, Oldtown, Highgarden, Winterfell, The Dreadfort, etc etc and none of those have +10, +20 or even +30% garrison. It seems much more reasonable for Storm's End to have the level 5 patrol posts building pre-built like Harvest Hall has the level 4 farm building pre-built.
•The stressed trait needs a second-level trait like 'severely stressed' or some such. A little warning on how much time my character has left would be very nice.
•As much as I enjoy being a fire obsessed pyromancer, I'm not too keen on the outfit being worn, especially as a high lord/ King. I don't know if it can be made optional or something, but wearing pyromancer robes into battle seems a little... off.
•We have allied orders to siege during times of war, but not defend? It would be very useful to protect homes.
•Reduce the likelihood of the smugglers ring entering demesne, or it's debuffs- because it's ridiculously painful how crippling it can be when you've got crap stewards as a single county Lord.
•As a High Valyrian child in one of my games, the event to gain Dragon Dreams fired for me and the spelling in the event, or the one after (I can't quite recall), was bad.
•Make it so people with dragons and without dragons, or their eggs, can gain dragon intel with the Scholar Focus. Seems a pretty logical step for any scholar worth the name to gather knowledge in the beasts that forged Seven Kingdoms into one or even just get curious with the Valyrian Freehold.
•The Mega-War mechanic, which I am deeply in favour of, isn't half annoying when councillors constantly get the Fired From Council -15 opinion of you every time some arse(pardon my French) of a vassal picks a fight or you imprison some Lord Paramount.
•I kinda feel like the 100 limit on martial for Dragons is, dare I say it, a little low. I had a Dragon in one game that was over 260 years old and just sort of felt as though he should be more powerful than a Dragon 100 years his junior. Alternatively, you could make it so every martial point after 100 is 2 times, or 5 times less likely to come about.
•And, if you could, could someone please stop maesters randomly coming to my court as King of Westeros when I already have a serving archmaester?
•Dragon eggs constantly going to the 'mother dragon' all the time gets really annoying since I can't grab it and then my wife goes ahead and gives my eldest son a brand new dragon when really he ought to get the strongest, most powerful beast available. A 50/50 ratio would be much appreciated.
•Alter some of the restrictions governing marriage. I was always left fuming when the King of the Iron Throne refused to marry into my family even though my overall levy contribution was in the double digits percentage-wise.
•Make us suffer a little bit for building Reaper provincial builds like Merchant's Harbour and Regimental Levy. I found the costs minimal even if they were 250 gold apiece. A permanent 5% tax reduction per build for RP upkeep/ maintenance PLUS a 245 gold initial expenditure (5gold reduction just because) seems a slight bit more balanced.
•Increase the cost of building a small shipyard to 350 but make it more available to Coastal provinces with common+ county capitals and ensure they're not build-able in merchant republics who would otherwise have ridiculous fleet levies. Not build-able by Ironborn either.
•Reaper flavour events add a fair bonus to Coastal provinces with the Merchant's Harbor (50% galleys), e.g. some small periodic (one year on, one year off for example) city tax.
•Singular captured Lordships should De Jure drift into other High Lordships. It's been fifty years and three generations and the Rosby's still consider Rosby theirs. This is on shortest De Jure drift game rule option of 10 years
•Make the morale penalty for having slaves correlate with the slave camp level. First level 10%, Second 20% and so on so forth.
