It would be cool if we could destroy all of a holding's improvements (including the castle/city level) Castamere style. It has occurred several times during the timeline (Castamere, Tarbeck Hall, Whitewalls, almost even KL towards the end of Robert's rebellion). The option to do this would appear in the following situations:
1. Upon crushing a rebellion, if the rebels' capital holding is revoked/usurped (like in the case of Castamere, Tarbeck Hall and Whitewalls)
2. Losing by -80% in a war for your main title if the capital holding would also be lost upon losing the war (to make possible situations like Aerys' attempted destruction of KL). There could be events that would result in you being prevented to do this, however
Of course, there would be two prerequisites to prevent the mechanic from being used by absolutely anyone:
(*) Character is NOT kind
(*) Character is ruthless, cruel, envious, fire-obsessed, lunatic or wroth (with each trait increasing the chances of an AI character doing the action)
Note that razing a holding wouldn't actually destroy the holding itself, but destroy all improvements (including the castle/city level) which is obviously a massive loss in and of itself, especially for higher-rank holdings. Also, razing the holding would actually take time, depending on the level of the holdings (Winterfell or Highgarden are going to take far longer to destroy than some backwards keep). Some holdings should probably actually be immune to this (Harrenhal, Casterly Rock, The Five Forts or whatever they are called) due to the obscene amount of work required to destroy them just not making it worth it. Also, having large amounts of wildfire in the province will make the process go much faster.
The effects of doing this would be:
- Fear and tyranny gained, proportional to the size of the holding destroyed (again, destroying Winterfell will cause people to watch out a lot more than destroying Baelish keep will)
- Chance of becoming ruthless
Thoughts? It might not be perfectly balanced, but it would be nice if there was a feature like this in the mod.
