AAR: House Kallion, the good lions.
House Kallion is a house that descends from bastard between a Lannister and a Stark centuries ago. When Aegon invaded, they were among the houses who refused to bend the knee to the Dragons. For three centuries, their progeny served in the company of the Roses as sellswords. However, their house words carried with them for many years. Rebirth, Redeem, Return. They had no home to return to for centuries, and needed a chance at true redemption. A rebirth occurred with Bryan Kallion, a warg who visited lands beyond the wall his in young adult years and miraculously found Dark Sister.
Metanarrative Goal: Establish a cross-continental empire of his own creation.
Short term goal: Sleep with as many of the canon beauties of westeros as possible.
Medium goal: Any kin from these children must rule their own empires from their mother’s homelands.
Long term goal: Last as long as the Targaryens
Punishments: 1. If you have any High Valyrian Blood at some point, your heirs must always be children of incest unless the character is chaste, zealous, and other pious qualities before marriage.
2. You must ally with all ancestors as often as possible. You’re not allowed to pull a Walder Frey on any kin. This will overrule rule #3.
3. If a chance arises, you must subjugate any Targaryens or do your best to steal power from them, as well as other valyrians. The exception is Dany, who the first PC admires for her liberator ways.
4. You’re a northerner. You will always be a northerner who follows the old gods. The Lord of Light is a bunch of shite. The weeping ladies of Lys is just as foolish but without any magic. You cannot deviate from the Old Gods and must demand all vassals to believe in them.
5. You’re a Lion, not a Wolf. They may have accepted you at first, but they’re the reason your family was cast into Essos. You don’t harbor any ill-will towards the current Starks, but you don’t particularly like them either. You are not allowed to have a dog, wolf, or direwolf as animal companions.
6. Slavery, but no slaving. Growing up in Essos has made you exposed to slavery all your life. It’s quite the normal part and class you see every day. However, there is nothing you hate more than seeing people kicked out of their family homes. Slave raids are not allowed. If anyone attempts to raid you, it is your responsibility to acquire revenge, punish their families, and liberate their land.
7. Your vassals cannot expand borders under a king. Any vassal seeking to take advantage of the disenfranchised lands like the disputed forest will be coerced to give it up and have no say in the matter. I cannot hide behind strong vassals and hope they take random lands.
Benevolence: 1. You can remove the widowed trait from Dany. You must give Dark Sister to her if she agrees to wed you and support her in any war that you can.
2. You can grant stronger claims to the children of westeros’ beauties, give them ambitious traits, and help console events to trigger a claimant attempt by them.
3. You can disinherit any child by sending them to the wall or the Citadel.
Bryan Kallion was a humble man and a good steward. Following the path of the merchant, he eventually bought land in Lys in the disputed forest. It was cheap since it was constantly fought over. His first years were pleasant, until the Daenerys Stormborn decided to burn Lys to the ground for their practice of slavery. Over the narrow sea, Aegon VI tore the Stormlands to the Iron Throne. Things didn’t look good for the world. Dragons ruled. Chaos was everywhere. Euron Greyjoy stole the Reach. War erupted over the world.
Out of the ashes house Kallion would have a chance to be rebirthed. Bryan Kallion proposed to Dany matrilleanly with Dark Sister in hand. She accepted, and they had two sons in quick succession. However, the wars didn’t go well. Eventually, Dany divorced Bryan Kallion with the purpose to marry a Ghiscari for power. Bryan, unlocking into secret abilities of a warg, assassinated his wife’s second husband. He would not share her, and the world would know it. Soon too, a sellsword captain demanded his wife’s attention. Bryan would not tolerate it, captured this Daario, and executed him. But then came a strange situation. Dany, unbeknownst to Bryan Kallion, gave birth to a daughter while the marriage had avoided. The daughter, of her own accord per some reason, decided to follow her Father’s house and joined him rather than stay with house Targaryen. With white hair, he named her Weiss, for the snow. The family reunited, and they would stay reunited all of their lives, but still a physical distance separated the Merchant Lord and the Empress.
With war erupting in Westeros, Aegon VI took the throne. Myrcella and Margaery fled to Essos. Arianne Martell, pissed at waiting so long for nothing, also left Dorne. Elia and her husband Trystane followed after her. All three ladies were convinced to come to Bryan’s court and were bedded. Elia was bedded too, and Trystane was cuckolded in secret. Each of them had an oldest child as a daughter, Myranda Lannister, Kierstyn Tyrell, and Emilee Martell. Elia gave birth to a son named Jared. The others would later have sons as well, and for a long while, Bryan Kallion thought of making his oldest son of Arianne his heir being Diaten, a genius in all aspects. But the decision would eventually be taken out of his hands and Bryan would establish his lands to be Cognatic.
Love affairs were the smallest task of Bryan’s life though. He needed to carve out his own empire. He saw the foreboding doom in the future, although he couldn’t quite make out what it was. He was far from the best option, but he knew Lys needed to be united and to stop squabbling over lands with Myr and Tyrosh. Pirates needed to be dealt with, and he needed some land west to have a foothold in Westeros to protect his future children as well. Sadly, some events couldn’t be ignored. Bryan Kallion attempted to reason with the Masters of Lys, but he failed. Nothing he said mattered because of the manipulations of Lord Master Gyleno Rogare- a rich fool with a sword that compensated for his small prick. A blood feud had started.
Gyleno murdered his son Diaten in secret. He was the oldest boy and closest threat to Lys in Gyleno’s eyes. Bryan could do nothing but see in the darkness of night in his dreams, biding his time and growing popular despite being of a different faith. He grew claims on other lands over 20 years. First, he fought house Lahar for Mesylosh. With a Hrakkar he had bought at his side, the world soon begun to hear about the Magister Warlord who controlled the minds of beasts and could change skins into one. No longer did they fight against men- but hordes of animals. Bryan Kallion became a great warg and took on the nickname “the Lion.” Bryan “the Lion” then fought for Dyreno Hill and Morghos. Last remained were Silkhead, the home of house Rogare, and the Magister in Lys whose family lands Bryan had taken in battle from his son. And then, a miracle hit. Byan Rogare, Gyleno’s nephew, had been disinherited for marrying without his father’s permission and his wife died shortly after by an accident. But the true luck was that Magister Manolo Haen died of old age days before, forcing a new election. Bryan Kallion, owner of most of Lys’ land, was elected. House Rogare was put on trial, stripped of their lands, and executed one by one until only Byan remained- who was forced to marry Margaery Kallion. Later, an “accident” would occur while Byan went on a business trip with some carts. He tragically died trying to redeem his family for their treasonous activities. House Kallion had been redeemed, and now controlled all of Lys.
Lawrence Hornwood, Roderick Dustin, Arthur Ashford, and Lorimas Mudd were granted lands in Lys. They spent their years converting the land, abstaining from conflict and putting down rebels. His daughters Emilee, Kierstyn, and Myranda all launched assaults on their respective homelands. Magister Bryan did his best to support them, although the natives did far more than he could. One by one, they managed to take the lands of Dorne, the Reach, and the Westerlands while the Iron Throne was fighting for possession of the Iron Islands. Not long after, conversions with of The Seven to the Old Gods started causing tremendous issues between the Lords of Westeros. All lands but the Riverlands declared independence, eventually winning.
Still with all that, the strangest child of them all was his eldest daughter Weiss. She hatched a Sapphire dragon named Satien, and would later tame him as a 14 year old girl. She arguably the most powerful person in Lys, as she was her Father’s favorite little girl. Still, her Valyrian tendencies didn’t end with just being his “favorite.” She developed a crush on her own father in her teenage years. She had wedded the second son of Elia and Trystane, who was a closeted gay man named Godry, but still longed for her father’s touch. While disturbed at first, she convinced him to provide their family with an heir, and Godry agreed to keep it a secret. Bryan I “the Lion” had a secret child with his own daughter, and the future King, Bryan II.
Lastly, near the end of his reign as magister, Bryan Kallion had opened his borders to Aegon VI. Not longer after the wars for independence occurred, Aegon VI was overthrown by angry peasants and cast into Essos. They fled into Bryan Kallion’s trap. He was the closest King to a Targaryen. Surely he must be safe? No, not for those not of his blood. Aegon VI was put on trial. When Magister Bryan’s steward declared him innocent Aegon I’s crimes, Magister Bryan had hear enough. He would have his revenge, for better or worse. He unlawfully had Aegon VI executed by beheading him himself. His children were let go and fled to Ghiscar, but not before Magister Bryan had stolen all their wealth. He sold all the useless items, such as dragons skulls. There’s no use for a dead dragon after all. He also gifted the various crowns back to their homelands, although keeping the Falcon and Storm Crowns for himself.
After 15 years, Bryan Kallion and his council passed a law establishing a monarchy in Lys. No longer were they elected, only the blood of the Lion of Lys would be able to rule with wisdom and power. Those who didn’t believe in him were fearful of his cruel actions towards Aegon VI while fleeing for his life, but Bryan didn’t regret the deed. Never again would an Aegon sit on the Iron Throne. Finally at peace with accomplishments, Bryan “the Lion” died at 51 years old, as the first known King of Lys in thousands of years. He died not even a week after he became King. When not a personal issue, he ruled fairly and justly. Still, the personal attacks against him will be remembered as at times tyrannical and at best questionable. He wasn’t always a good lion, but he was always a lion.

House Kallion wasn’t over yet. Queen Weiss took the throne with her own story, which is for another time.
In Westeros, Princess Emilee Martell “the Cunning” of Dorne would expand territory into the Stormlands and stayed off assassinations. She eventually died of stress in 8345.
Queen Kierstyn “the Eagle” of the Reach died young at 37, but managed to have 12 children in that time span. She took lands from Crownlands and the Stormlands, greatly expanding Reach territory and slaying the Ironborn in her borders.
Queen Myranda “the Beautiful” of the Rock fought into the Riverlands and the Crownlands, taking an enormous chunk of land herself. As kin, none of them fought each other. Instead, they ganged up in a 3-way alliance against the Riverlands, Crownlands, and Stormlands. One by one, their lands fell away. Their lands eventually reached Coast to Coast.
In the North, Perra “the Unworthy” Ironsmith became Queen in the North. Robert “the Weak” became King of the Mountain and Vale. Euron passed his throne to his son Quellon “the Strongarm” with 48 martial. In the Free Cities, Braavos and Volantis had begun expanding their territories. Empress Daenerys Stormborn conquered all of Ghiscar until Asshai, as well as large chunks of the Summerset Sea. However, in her old age, she was rebelled against and Drogon was hurt. With nothing to do and no one to help quickly enough, she died in the dungeons of one of her rebellious lords. She lived her a hero, but died a villain.
