There is this Favour use in the game where a vassal, whom the player has just cause to imprison/revoke/execute, calls in a favour on the player to get a pardon for that.
There is the unfortunate tendency that vassals the player likes and doesn't ver want to imprison get caught doing something that gives a player reason to imprison them, even if it's something the player would have joined given the chance. For example, I get a reason to imprison my friend if he plots to fabricate evidence of the trason of our mutual rival. This clutters the "chain and ball" icon's list, making it useless as a warning.
A solution would be the ability to initiate the pardon from the liege side, offering it for an opinion boost, or a favour, or some gold. Mostly as an anti-frustration feature, lore-wise some traits should limit or modify it's use (example: Stannis about Davos).
