Fortifications that are considered to be smaller than castles seem to generally be referred to as holdfasts in the ASOIAF universe. At least in Westeros and Essos (according to the wiki) The term keep only ever seems to be used as part of a toponym, not to denote the type of fortification itself (other than that it's probably some sort of defensive structure) and offers no reliable bearing on size at all (i.e. Craster's Keep is nothing more than a modest homestead surrounded by a wooden palisade whereas the Red Keep is one of the largest and most defensible castle complexes in the realm). As such, I humbly suggest a slight modification to the localisation for the first 2 castle fortification levels. Either simply replace Keep with Holdfast OR replace the level 2 fortification with Holdfast and drop the Large and Small like this: OLD:NEW:I personally think the latter gives the fortification upgrade chain a little more flavour whilst also making it slightly more accurate, at least as far as in-universe terminology goes. Whilst this is just my personal opinion, I feel that it makes sense that a keep (if the term is even used in the ASOIAF universe in a non-toponymic sense) would be seen as smaller than a holdfast. Considering the size of Craster's Keep and that the site on which the Red Keep sits was originally occupied by a small wooden fort. EDIT: Wiki link here for those interested. 'Holdfast' seems to be used to denote any sort of fortification that is considered too small to be a fully fledged castle.

Your image links don't work. Maybe you have them set to private?

Your image links don't work. Maybe you have them set to private? Just created an Imgur account and hosted it there. Hope that fixes it? If it still doesn't work, it's basically just two cropped screenshots from the mod, each showing the 2 lowest fortification levels. The top showing the current localisation, the bottom showing the edited one. This: I Small Northman Keep II Large Northman KeepChanged to: I Northman Keep II Northman HoldfastI suppose I could have just posted it like this to begin with but I guess I like to go the extra mile where it isn't necessary whatsoever

I really like this idea but I'd argue it should go
I Northman Holdfast II Northman Keep
Keep does seem to be used for smallish fortifications to be sure but Holdfasts can be even smaller - the Holdfast at Pennytree for example so if anything is the base tier of a castle its a holdfast
