Considering his multiple marriages (I'm not sure how they are currently coded, I just know they show up as "concubines" on the Faith Militant bookmark) and general disdain for the Faith of the Seven, wouldn't it make sense to just make him Valyrian? The Faith and its adherents despise him, it feels weird that they would even share a religion.

If I recall there have been several kings in history that got on bad terms with the clergy of their own religion.
