I think it would be amazing to have an event that pops up whenever one of your ships comes close to an enemy ship that would allow you to attack and attempt to destroy said ship and possibly (if that ship is carrying a decent amount of men) also count toward you're victory percentage. ironborn of course would have an advantage as they specialise in raiding/naval warfare also its stated in lore that their devotion to the drowned god means they have no fear of drowning and thus wear armour during all engagements increasing their naval prowess even further. it should be fairly easy to implement and would do wonders for immersion, as government with large fleets but small army's would be able to use their ship for more than ferrying their men from one island to the next.

I had the exact same idea some time ago, but a modder told me it's not possible to mod debanding of neither troops or navies. God only knows why Paradox haven't implemented naval battles for ck2.

That is a crying shame, ships are by far one of the most unutilized assets of CK2
