Basically the title. I started a thread on this on the subreddit so here's the gist of it.
"I've just got done reinstalling the base mod, verifying the integrity of the game cache, and testing vanilla CK2...so with all that out of the way I come here for aid. Vanilla works fine, and its not a submod issue either.
I've been playing through as House Peasebury of Poddingfield but now I can't continue because the game will seize up entirely and I have to sign out just to get it to close. It was acting funny recently as well, with the game lagging at the beginning of every month yet I only have a yearly autosave going."
I've edited out the defunct cutlure thing as has been suggested by others on Reddit, but I've got nothing in stopping the freezing up. The game just stops entirely a few days after loading, and I have to force the game to close with task manager (note to everyone set taskmanger to always be on top). Any help would be great. I really want to continue with this save.

It is probably related to that bug unfortunately, but I'll take a look in any case.

Nothing new really. This is a Vanilla CK2 issue. Until they resolve it on their end... this is our situation. :/

I don't have the issue with the game seizing up completely, but it does have a lag at each new month after only a 100 years of play. When playing vanilla I can go for centuries without it happening. Since I have fixed the "defunct" flag issue (which helped a lot), I'm not sure what is causing this.

From what I know and my own experience, the "defunct" issue is coming from the Vanilla game itself. It could be part of a larger issue from Vanilla but who knows? The changes from 2.9 to 3.0 were somewhat major, at least to syntax.

It was fixed by a simple change to the mod files. Instructions have already been posted to this forum.
