Hello yet again, I am suggesting that the kingsguard, besides the Lord Commander, be part of the King's court, instead of the Lord Commander's court so that they could be assigned as generals and the such. Anyways as always, thanks for reading and considering!

I think as far as succession goes being part of the lord commanders court makes life easier. Especially since as bodyguards they should be guarding the royal family not commanding troops in battle. It'd be kinda odd to send your elite guard away from you to die on some distant battlefield and ignore their sworn oaths and duty.
Edit: Actually a countersuggestion. Can honorary titles(Not council titles) be restricted by the kingsguard trait, to represent the fact that the kingsguard is not there to be generals of armies or petty court officials but instead there as bodyguards and at best skilled councilors(because I send the best candidate for train children to dragonstone in hopes of improving my grandkids if my son diegns it worth his time).

But we have cases where the kingsguard did command armies, such as Robert’s Rebellion with Lewyn Martell, Baristan Selmy, and Jonother Darry, Loras Tyrell in the siege of Dragonstone, and the three kings guard who marched with Bloodraven on Whitewalls.
