Vanilla 2.8.1, no submods, only AGOT 1.6, proper checksum (HDRM) When choosing the option to set up a cadet branch for your custom character no further event fires, so you can't choose one, instead you join the main dynasty. While I haven't manually fired the event, others seem to have done it (they didn't state which patch they where running though) and while you can choose the cadet dynasty none of the options actually do anything.

You can add the trait house_customizer, find some random noble, join their dynasty, then add the trait again and try getting back into the original family. Worked for me Make sure you select legitizimed bastard/cadet dynasty option..

Worked for me Make sure you select legitizimed bastard/cadet dynasty option.. Did exactly that (which is something I also read on a Plebbit post from last year), still didn't work. Also I fired the events manually ("event cadet.2" for Targ cadets) chose one of the options but nothing happened. Are you running 1.6?

I mentioned this bug in an earlier post here. To work around it, use the customizer trait per usual to set to the main family line (i.e. Stark) then after you are a Stark, run customizer_houses.5. That will bring up the four house select screen. You should be able to select as normal.
Failing that, set parental status as desired, save an un-compressed game copy, and simply edit in the desired dynasty to your character.
As I noted in the earlier post though, dynamic coa also appears broken for cadet houses (specifically) so that may not work you.

Yeah, I saw it before, but you didn't state which patch you were running (it's implied though since you speak of it working in 1.5) so I saw it fit to report it again. That seems to be a good workaround, thank you. Dynamic CoA is broken though as you stated.

I can't figure out the coa thing either. It's odd, I can add a "normal" house (say House Wyl) to the dynamic coa system and that works fine. Something is just wonky with cadets specifically and its causing the dynamic coa event to fire incorrectly for them (at least that's my best guess).
