Good afternoon.
How many times has this happened to you?
If you're like me, you hate this stupid Event and want it disabled, so you disable """""Enhanced""""" Marriage AI so that people stop instantly divorcing you. Then, much to your chagrin, you still get the punishments from the """""Enhanced""""" Marriage AI.
What's the point of the Rule if it doesn't work? I specifically told the Game Rules not to force that BS on me, and I still get that BS forced on me. Railroading certain mechanics- especially frustrating ones -is never a good idea, given that this can be solved with a simple addition of a Rule. What's the point of disabling """""Enhanced""""" Marriage AI if everyone instantly divorces if they become the heir? I don't like that to happen, and I especially do not like railroading such an initiative without giving the option to disable it.
I have several different ideas to solve this issue, and this is why I am posting here:
1. Amend the "Enhanced" Marriage AI Rule with a third option, titled something like "Vanilla" or "Absolute", which completely disables the "enhancement" AND the insta-divorce issue. In other words, it simply works as the actual CK2 game intends.
2. Establish a second Rule accomplishing the same thing.
3. Give an option to restrict it to only apply to certain conditions or titles, such as the Iron Throne or only Emperors, etc. etc. etc., and so on.
4. Tie it to the existing Rule, in that if the AI is disabled, that Event is disabled as well.
In some random circumstances, if you marry a heir, you get an instant-divorce. In some random circumstances, if you marry the second in line and he becomes the heir, you sometimes get an instant divorce. I have yet From my previous experiences, you sometimes can't marry anyone that matters, unless they directly hold the title at the time of the union, with this stupid Event. I have never been able to predict when the Event fires.
Now, obviously, some people like this Event for some reason, but I'm sure I am not the only one that thinks it ruins the game by making it way too hard to advance one's station.
If the Developers of this Mod are not interested, I'm willing to accept a sub-Mod to stop this, if one exists. If there isn't one, I'll make the dang thing myself.
Thank you.
