Hello, thanks for clicking, and let me begin with this:
This is the story of my game as Donnel 'the Daring' Bolton, set in the Bleeding Years before Aegon's Conquest.
It was meant to be a completely average CK2 game for fun, and when I wasn't paying attention it spiralled into something so much more.
Events took place beyond my control and the second half of this AAR marks the point in which I took roleplaying as my character in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire - Lord Bolton - seriously.
Now, unfortunately this was so long ago, that though I've written up much of the facts as they stand, and taken several screenshots where applicable, the saved game was utterly corrupted by the new agot update at the time. All the traits were mixed up, dozens of characters died, it was atrocious. So I cannot bring about a new screenshot every update. I have many! And I hope that will suffice - but stick around! And as a special treat, when we're finished, I'll detail the hilarious and wrong ways my save was corrupted!
Now the GOOD NEWS is that I've written it. It took me literally a year, because I forgot about it for a long time... but I have it. It's long. It's fascinating. It's a good read - on my word. But you'll have to rely on my honour that everything that I say happened, did! This is the retroactive story I tell, of how the North fell, and returned again.
Oh, and not to undercut myself, but I will be toying with things to make this more narratively interesting. Don't hold that against me. On the plus side, I am an avid A Song of Ice and Fire reader, and if you pay close attention, you will see boundless easter eggs and winks in my writing. I cannot help myself, so happy hunting.
Having said that, this all really happened. This is the set in the North, detailing the fate of the Crown of Winter, and all those lords in the North that sought to play the Game of Thrones.
This is a story of love, of hate. Of steadfast loyalty, and of blackest betrayal. Of cruelty, of murder, of deceit. Of honour, of righteousness. Of war. Of peace.
This is the story of the Crown of Winter.
But first, this are the Bleeding Years. Before Aegon of Dragonstone turned turned his eye west and sought to establish a new dominion, before the Conqueror was the Conqueror, and before he said those infamous words: 'From this day forth there would be but one king in Westeros'.
In the Bleeding Years there were seven kings, and seven kingdoms. This is the tale of the North. So what happened to the Targaryens?
I'll begin my story then, with the fates of the Targaryens, as chronicled by the Archmaester Sandor Perren....
....Elsewhere. Sorry all, but the main AAR will actually be on the Paradox AAR list.
Now PLEASE go and follow the link! If you don't have an account then I urge you to make one! And follow me there. I promise you, that I have done everything I can make the destination worth it!
