Hello, I have wondered as to why the different cities have different religions when the named gods have temples and worshipers across the free cities, such as Trios being worshiped in Braavos and Tyrosh. So I propose that the many different free cities religions be combined into one religion, Gods of the Free Cities, or some other name, with the different gods being made into sects. I am not suggesting incorporating Rhllor or the Valyrian pantheon into it. Also, I addition, I am not sure why there is followers of the seven left in Andalos. We are told the only Sept in Essos is in Braavos, so that would suggest there wouldn't followers of the seven in Andalos. Thanks for reading and considering!

But... why? It doesn't seem like Essosi religions cause trouble to people. Even if they're very... uhm... dull, they can be still build upon. And have flavour added to them. By combining some of religions into a single one, you would be taking away uniqueness of their religion and possibilities of events related to their religions.
I can't even imagine how you can build sects, except for heresies. Which even doesn't make sense because heresies should be heresies, not actual sects for various gods.
Essos religions may be little dull, but they can be build upon in future CK2 stops releasing DLCs and gives modders time to include more personal content.

Sects are used in the Indian religions in the vanilla, they appear in the traits. I suggest it as it is more lore accurate. The free cities do not have established faiths for the most part, Norvos being the big exception. Even in Qohor you have followers of other gods, notably rhllor. Also, the changing of sects is a much less costly thing than the changing of religions I think 50 prestige versus 500, which would be more representative of a free city citizen worshiping one of the many other gods accepted by the free cities. Hope that makes sense. Oh also, it would allow for many more gods to be represented then are currently shown in game.

What we should have is a system where random courtiers in the different free cities are spawned either as the local religion or followers of R'hllor. The followers of the Red God are everywhere in the Free Cities, the attempt to burn the Black Goat in Qohor may indicate that they are numerous even in the more extreme religious countries.
