I am posting here because I know the creators of this mod have chimed in on this topic in the past. But how do you guys keep your great family's from dying from grey plaque? In my most recent playthrough, within three generations the Hightowers, Baratheons, Arrys, Stark's, and Velaryon's were all completely wiped out, mostly due to the grey plague. This doesn't even include the small houses like qoherys, who were gone after the second generation, even when I made an attempt to save them by making their last heir a super trooper(he still died young without an heir). Further, I was breeding Tyrells & Rains because they were on their very last male characters. I have kings guards wiped out back to back to back by the stuff. Today, I'm doing some testing for a mod I'm working on and by day ten Ory's Baratheon has grey plague. Literally, I hit play long enough to get a portrait property to render and he was sick lol..……….. What to do? I have already tried good traits- they still die. This picture is after I had pressed play/pause about three times- its at day 18, dragon stone isn't plagued nor have I even raised my levy's yet. ![](http://farm2.staticflickr.com/1785/42880911742_ddafbfed74_b.jpg)

I play with minor epidemics and other diseases set to Fewer and have not encountered this problem. Sometimes I even cheat some money to myself to build hospitals in major provinces like Oldtown and Highgarden. The illness rates are definitely catered toward vanilla, where dynasties don't last for 8000 years as in AWOIAF.

I too always set epidemics and diseases to as low as possible when I'm actually playing and not just testing unrelated mechanics. But even so, OP it sounds like have some serious bad luck.

When this happens I just use events RIP.11024-RIP.11030 on the appropriate characters. Cures and makes them immune to the stuff. At least it gives them a chance to procreate!

However, it does not give you the greyscale_scarred trait which makes you immune to both the grey plague and greyscale in the future.
