As of late I've been running into a lot of instances where some spymaster, usually on the other side of the kingdom, will show up investigating rumors of a plot. Usually they're killed off with no questions asked thanks to that high % chance if you have high intrigue, but majority of the time my plots are targeting direct threats to the realm, often pirate lords or rebels or people plotting against the throne. I've had it one time blow up in my face, with my plot to kill a pirate lord who had no heir that was a vassal of the realm and the title would revert to the crown upon his death. Plot was discovered, revealed to Aegon whom was king, and then imprisoned me for it. For plotting to kill a pirate lord that was declaring war against his tyranny.
This event is a bit mishandled majority of the time, especially when say they're 20+ regions away from you. I've also had -six- spymasters show up to investigate my plot within minutes of making a plot, killing one with only one more to replace it and so on. Not seconds after I made a plot one time, boom. Someone's investigating my plot. There should be some tweaks to this, especially if you have high intrigue and your plot is targeting someone outside of the realm.

Yeah, it's a pretty silly event.

It is a vanilla event, but will add improving it to the to do list.
