Hello. I had a single daughter as my heir with my character being a female, old and the husband died from execution. I just recently looked below my portrait to see my liege as my heir and that my daughter joined the night's watch. Is it intended that a child regardless of succession rank would do this?

It's a fairly rare event where a daughter will run off to the Night's Watch. I've had it happen once and I think at some point I got a pop-up to send somebody to try and get her back.
Sometimes you play really well but shit happens and you lose the game. Just the nature of the beast, in my opinion.

Yeah. Heirs do weird things man. Had an heir decide he wanted to join the citadel. After he was married. One ran off and joined a merc company, (cool thing, "story" wise.) Weird things.

I had one game I played really well and really carefully for about two centuries but I lost because for several generations I had tons of daughters and no sons (who survived anyway) and then I had two generations of very low fertility. Just could not get any gandkids. Even distant branches of my family died out for various reasons. It was a little sad.
