AGOT: Origins
***** This mod requires ---click this-> AGOT More Bloodlines <-click this--- *****
Are you tired of being molded into existence by forces outside of your very concept of understanding, and then being disappointed by your lack of background story? No? Just me? Oh well, I made a mod for it anyway.
Agot: Origins is my attempt at introducing a bit of flavor and background story into the game for custom made characters. I've always loved how much the great houses stood out and wanted to be able to craft my own humble (or not so humble) beginnings so that when you look back through the generations you can see where it all began in the same vein as Garth Greenhand and Aegon the Conqueror. This is my first attempt at a mod not just for agot, but ck2 in general, so there are bound to be mistakes and trust me, the flavor could use some love. I am releasing what I've made so far so that I can start getting a better feel for what players want in terms of balance, and to start incorporating origins that you guys suggest, because ultimately I'm doing this so we can all have our own special beginnings. In that regard, please make suggestions for what traits you'd like to see origins made for next, as well as any origin stories themselves you'd like to see and what you'd want the reward for taking them to be.
This mod currently adds:
Chapter 1: Bloodlines
5 traits:
Founder: Gives access to an event allowing you to select a background story for your character based on traits you selected in the ruler designer, providing a bloodline based on the trait you chose and a bloodline with a claim on your primary title
Shallow Roots, Rooted Blood, and Deep Roots: These traits represent fairly strong seed, strong seed, and very strong seed respectively. Once in game an event will fire allowing you to choose from aesthetic characteristics such as hair color, eye color, and so forth (based on the custom graphics for houses like the Baratheons and Reynes) and granting a bloodline with the appropriate level of strong seed for your chosen characteristics.
***Be warned, if you did not choose the corresponding ethnicity in the ruler designer, the event will force it on you.***
Noble Bastard: A weak and mostly flavor intended trait signifying your founders baseborn origins, and applying a similar bloodline.
37 Origin Bloodlines with nicknames:
These are bloodlines granted in the founder event, there are currently 37 of them, each corresponding with the following traits:
attractive
genius
brawny
strong
formidable fighter
(any variation of knight)
duelist
hunter
giant
deceitful
brave
dragon rider
chosen by rhllor
lunatic
ugly
hedonist
scholar
gardener
mystic
impaler
poet
greedy
diligent
patient
ambitious
just
cruel
authoritative
stubborn
honorable
brawny
tall
And finally, the highest tier education level for martial, learning, diplomacy, stewardship, and intrigue.
Each option also provides a nickname for the corresponding origin
A bloodline granting a claim on your primary title
66 total strong seed bloodlines, representing most of the special cosmetics utilized by the great houses of Westeros.
A bloodline reflecting your bastardry
Chapter 2: Loyalty
Bloodlines:
28 bloodlines representing one of each animal added by both vanilla AGOT, and MBS. You gain the bloodline by having the founder trait, and any animal trait, and within the first month of the game an event will fire asking whether or not you'd like to incorporate the animal into your household.
Friend or Foe system:
The second chapter of the maesters recording of your ascension, depending on what traits you've chosen and what stats you have at startup you will be given the opportunity to choose between 1-3 friends, 1-3 rivals, 1 lover, 1 spouse, and 1 blood feud.
The requirements for each are thus:
if you have diplomacy over 10, you get one friend
if you have gregarious, you get one friend
if you have groomed, you get one friend
If you have proud you get one rival
if you have dishonest you get one rival
if you have ambitious you get one rival
If you have lustful, you can claim one lover
If you have family person you can claim a spouse
if you have cruel, ruthless, or stubborn you can attempt to forge a blood feud
Once the event has concluded and you've clicked close menu, right click anyone you'd like to assign any of the above labels you'd like to assign by clicking the correlated decision. Declare Lover for lover, Declare Rival for rival, etc. All of these EXCEPT the blood feud are guaranteed to work. I know its cheesy, but we aren't making these characters to not have a power fantasy. Use it however you want, I'm not your mom. Blood feuds follow vanillas chances and modifiers for success, meaning a king isn't very likely to successfully start a blood feud with a landless noble. You might if they hate you enough, just very unlikely.
I've been getting reports that this isn't working well with more bloodlines 2.0, it does not currently have full support for it as I made this mod alongside 3.0 and with another update for bloodlines on the horizon, I'd rather keep looking forward at the moment. If anyone else patches this on there own and would like to provide a link or would like me to host a link to it, please feel free to drop it in the comments. I fully support all player patches, translations, and bugfixes. I do have an official patch in the pipeline a ways down the line after support for whatever is left of the modern submod scene if nothing else ever comes up in the meantime.
Roadmap:
Okay, I'm new at this so my roadmap is going to be teasers of things I plan to implement over the coming weeks/months. I don't like numbered version systems, so I'm going to release my updates in chapters. My roadmap will consist of the names I have planned for upcoming chapters, I think it will be fun to let people guess. With that out of the way, here we go:
Chapter 3: Bloodbound
Chapter 4: Heirlooms
With all of that fun stuff you definitely wanted to sludge through out of the way, have a download link:

Thank you to the community over at the AGOT More Bloodlines discord for showing me where to look to learn how to do all of this
