Odd question - I'm doing some building modding atm, to try and make different regional styles of warfare be better represented - the dornish marches having more archers, the crannogmen more skirmishers and light infantry, white harbour having more knights than the rest of the north, the blackwoods having more archers, the brackens more cavalry etc etc, and I was wondering if anyone knew if there was some sort of formula that governed the baseline relationship between all of the different types of troops?
I know that modifiers and terrain will affect the relative values of different kinds of troops considerable, I'm just after the baseline in the interests of preserving rough balance - so what I mean is is there a formula that says for example:
x light infantry yield the same combat advantage as y heavy infantry and z pikemen etc?

Are you interested only in the "raw power" of the troops (i.e. their offense, defense, and morale)? Or are you interested in the "economy" of the troops (i.e. their offense/cost, defense/cost, and morale/cost)? It's easier to do an accounting of raw power, but it's still complicated by the fact that it's not clear how the game calculates the daily decrease in the average morale of a flank during a battle. And an economic accounting is easier for retinues (which of course aren't in the base agot mod) than for levies because the cost of retinue troops is much clearer than the cost of levy troops.

So I'd be adding new buildings that all cost the same so I'd be looking at raw power

If you want to neglect terrain bonus, leader trait bonus, tactic bonus, and tactical affinity bonus, then you can look just at the base attack, defense, and morale of the units and relate them by simple division. I could quote those values for vanilla, but they're different in the agot mod, and I'm not well-versed in the differences. Check defines.lua
