Hello everyone ; I've been following the mods since almost it's first version, and I was very satisfied with the addition of Essos and oriental essos, I saw a lot of new complementary maps that would probably be nice to add to the mods. I put one in display ibb.co/cTnLJ7Z
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for your hard work and high quality.

From what I understand, most people are experiencing performance issues and eventually crashes the longer they play the mod with map as it is. Expanding it even further will not help the matter, although I'd see no reason to not do that if there were no technical issues associated with it. And I'm not affiliated with dev team in any way, so feel free to ignore my post.

I've been on a game for 800 years, I'm no problem, you have to redirect the ram on the paradox games, if not you have freeze look at the process with the tutorial on stellaris .

Apparently one of the major culprits is the slavery system. I've also heard that the Iron Throne is a major performance hog, though it's unclear why.

My point is that trying to expand something that's already struggling (for one reason or another) won't help make things work better.

Sorry, what does this mean? looked at how to boost your ram on stellaris and apply it on CK2 , It takes off major lag. May I ask for a more specific hint or a link to a more detailed document? Googling for "stellaris performance improvement" returns gazillions of articles that often contradict one another.

The map you've shown as an example is not canon so we won't be extending the map to include it.
It's true that while the mod's map has something like 800 less provinces than the vanilla map, in terms of actual size dimensions it has been extended much beyond vanilla. I seem to recall that at the time of making the complete map as it is now, Cabe was hesitant to extend the dimensions any larger as we were already pushing the limits of what the game engine could generate in terms of physical map size.

So by everyones logic here are you saying that if i were to use the westeros only mod it would SIGNIFICANTLY reduce lag and improve performance or should i not bother?

So the things that cause lag from Essos are things like the slavery system and all it's maintenance events which are used by pretty much every realm in Essos. The fact that there are 13 republics on the map (there are like 3 or 4 in vanilla) each with all the events for running elections and some using custom election mechanics and also the amount of nomads on the continent.
The actual size of Essos in terms of amount of characters is not really an issue as the vanilla map has significantly more characters on it than the mod does at any given time.
Westeros Only reduces lag by removing all of those maintenance events and systems from the game which leaves only the feudal realms of Westeros and only 1 empire tier title to do Mega Wars. It doesn't actually change the physical size of the map anymore I believe, Essos is still there just not populated. It should help reduce lag on lower end machines and is especially helpful for multiplayer.

Mate you really need to explain this, or at least give us the link you're talking about. Literally no one here has any idea what you're on about and we'd very much like to know

There isn't really a point to adding all that land. Besides not being Canon, its also either uninhabited wasteland or jungles we know little about.

I second that. If not possible, how about putting at least city of Yeen in to the mod?
