So I'm doing an Aegon the Conqueror play through, currently on his child grandaughter. However, I keep getting this notification that legitimizes the Baratheons into Targaryens, and I don't want to do this. I believe my regent is doing this, but I am powerless to remove him without console commands. I want the Baratheons to stay themselves. If it helps, I am the last member of the Targaryen family. Is this why the regent doing this? Please help.
Alternatively, if someone can help me create a mod that switches the Targaryen CoA into Orys' former CoA before he becomes a full Baratheon, that can help to. It may sound petty and cosmetic, but considering Robert did the same thing with the Baratheon CoA when he married Cersei, I'd be cool. It may sound petty and cosmetic, but I like sticking to the lore and historical rulers, so that's my condition.

My post might be irrelevant, but I had some nasty experience with regent once in original CK2 (not GoT mod). Basically, the guy who became a regent thought he can do whatever he wants, and he gave away couple of my most valuable provinces that belonged to my dynasty for ages to himself. I was furious, but my hands were tied, as my character was lying in coma for last few years of his life.
My heir paid debt though, taking both provinces back and making sure ex-regent's dynasty didn't last long. That was a nice twist to a story, and I really enjoyed it from role-play perspective.

It's not completely irrelevant, thanks for sharing your perspective.

It's probably because you are the last one, I've done a lot of conquest playthroughs and I never seen Orys' heirs become Targaryens though, in my current one Aegon didn't had any kids and the Baratheons didn't even try to take the throne (they did became idependent for a short while against the tyrant who tamed Balerion though, but then bent the knee).
Regents can really be a nasty thing, but it's great for roleplaying, at least he didn't declare you incapable.

This happened to me on my most recent playthrough so I forgot to set my regent before clicking to play (I did change the character to age 0 so that I could play from being a child all the way up) and when I clicked play my Maester became regent he had an opinion of me of less than 17 and I had no way of getting this to increase with no gold to gift and stuff. Well at the age of like 7 he declared my character incapable and for a good while that was stuck on me. I think it was around 12 or maybe 13 a popup had come up that said something to the effect of you are playing horsey with some other kid in the court when you happen upon your maester on a balcony and the choice was to ram him or be a good kid... yeah he died from the fall ^^ treacherous big-itch

Very nice luck with that event there! I once had a ruler declared incapable by his regent. My ruler was an adult, but a Lunatic though, so it was kind of fair. But I still wasn't happy. After I think over a decade a guard forgot to lock the door to my room and I got out. The regent was holding council as I slammed the door open, marched in and roared that I was in charge (or something to that effect). The regent did not live much longer after that.
