I haven't played the mod in a long time what game rules do people use? Which rules make the most sense gameplay wise, lore wise and game of thrones in general.
so no sunset invasion, cheaper education cost to allow the smaller houses more access to education, valyrian cull. shattered retreat not sure about and the other stuff. Can someone give me some advise if they can.

I play on these: - Shattered/Randomized World OFF; - R+L=J ON; - Education Costs Normal(when i played as count it was pretty cheap, when i was the king it was like 70 or 90 gold, and when i was really rich it was 250+ which was fine, imo it scales properly); - Major Epidemics - dynamic(cool stuff, you see it, and cant do much about it); - Minor Epidemic - normal(same, very flavorful); - Non-Epidemic Diseases - none(it pisses me off that its random whether you get sick, you cant play around it, and too often i get cancer at 30 y old) - Absurd Events - ON; - Adventurers - rare(they try to conquer you far too often); - White Walkers - ON; - Non-Lore Invasions - ON(i didnt see it do much, you can turn it off); - Dragon Hatching & Taming - normal(i like to get high valyrian culture and steal targarien bloodline, and would rather have all the damn courtiers have it more difficult); - High Valyrian Cull - ON; - Duel Outcome Randomness - low(on normal its 80% chance better fighter wins, imo 90% chance makes more sense);

I usually leave everything how it is. I'll turn the diseases down or historical. And always keep that fan fiction of R+L=J off, cause, he's not a Targaryen. Sorry show watchers, that's just a plot device for the show since they're cheap and didn't want to actually add Aegon as a character leading the GC.

I keep R + L = J off, have duel randomness on its lowest (it's burned me too many times on the other settings), shattered retreat off, absurd events off, fabricating claims off and dynastic stability on (those last two go together, in my opinion, I hate seeing thousands of years of tradition upended all over Westeros within a few generations).
I don't have strong opinions on the other rules and I rarely play during the height of the dragon population.
I've considered playing in a shattered world. King of the Bees or King of the Moths sounds cool, but it seems like there're loads of bugs associated with that setting.

From my settings.txt file, here are my game rule settings:
dod_spoiler_remover="off" r_l_j="on" education_costs="vanilla" epidemics="historical" unjustified_wars="on" devil_worshipers="default" aztec_invasion="off" exclave_purge="harsh" army_movement_lock="off" siege_assaults="on" de_jure_requirement="required" culture_conversion="rare" religious_conversion="slower" vassal_republics="unrestricted" vassal_theocracies="unrestricted" provincial_revolts="normal" provincial_revolt_strength="powerful" punishment_release_prisoner="off" grant_independence="unrestricted" conclave_education_focuses="all" martial_headgear="on" non_aggression_pacts_block_factions="on" dragon_hatching_taming="hard" high_valyrian_cull="on" hl_creation_requirement="off" abdication="on" colinisation_cost="expensive" colinisation_time="short" dynastic_stability="on" fabricating_claims="slower" seize_valyrian_swords="less_restricted" family_titles_entitlement="off" demand_religious_conversion="default" ck2_version_warning="off" pagan_reformation="allowed" mega_wars="on" traditional_dynastic_claims="on"
I use vanilla education costs because I use the Meta AI Education submod I tweaked for AGOT
