I've been playing with House Volmark for over 200 years for now. Started as a county, became duke and the Iron King with my first ruler. Got beaten by Danaerys and became Lord Paramount. Upgraded my castles with the fortune i made by previous raids and with a good timing caught the Iron Throne of guard and gained my independence. After he died, as his son Iron King Harren, i raided all across the map from Summer Isles to Qarth. Invaded the Riverlands, and moved my capital to Harrenhal. With the curse it was hard to survive but managed to reconstruct Harrenhal in like 180 years.
Right now i am the strongest king in Seven Kingdoms. Have 30 thousand men just from my own castles and with the men of my vassals i have 80k men. But the things are not that simple now, whenever i raid some country they declare war at me. And i have to say they are in grave disadvantage. Magistrate of Lys declares war upon me while he has 15k men. Summer Islander kings declare war when they have 3k men. They stand no chance. But it just takes a long time to take my army from Asshai to Summer Isles. And while in a war i can't loot :/
Like i said it wasn't used to be like this. When i was a duke or just king of iron isles, they would hardly declare war upon me because of my raids. Any idea why this blood feud shit became this often?

These almost automatic wars are quite a good way to reform the drowned faith, but yeah mostly they're are a pain in the ass. You can continue looting though, you'll just have to pay full maintenance on your raiding armies, and if you turn raiding off you can't turn it back on until peace.
I don't have any idea of why they happen so often and even when the attacker has no chance of victory, but I can give you some of my strategies for it: 1) Raid with vassal levies, leave yours ready in your castle to defend the realm 2) Keep on raiding, let 'em come, after you get your boats full you will have plenty of time to deal with the ones your personal levies couldn't deal 3) Put all highborn prisoners you capture on raids in house arrest, so they won't die as easily and you can use them for the eventual blood feud war
