I'm in The Citadel society and received the Obsidian Tablet from one of its events, a quality 4 treasure which promises: "One step closer to enlightenment and life eternal" The problem is it requires atleast rank 3 in The Citadel (Which is Maester) to activate, and rank 3 has the condition: "Rulers cannot become full maesters", preventing me from ranking up past rank 2; naturally the game ends if you play a character that isn't a ruler, so unless I'm missing something the player can never achieve rank 3 and activate the Obsidian Tablet.

Oh, looking through the scripts the Obsidian Tablet is inherited from the base game's Hermetic Order Emerald Tablet, that explains alot. It bothered me enough to lower it's activation requirement in 00_artifacts.txt

Wait, how can you join the Citadel society? Is it even playable? It never shows up in the list of societies in my games (For some reason I can see only the Alchemists and the banks.)

Sure you can; you can't progress beyond rank 2 "Acolyte" as I mentioned, but all the rank 3 and 4 powers open up at rank 2 anyway. It's a really detailed society and alot of fun, I enjoy forging links and going through specialism missions. I believe it's visible to any ruler in diplomatic range of the Citadel (So generally Westeros, but a lot of Western Essos too) [ Edit: And it requires the Monks and Mystics DLC to see], it requires the following the join: - Learning above 7
- Traditionally uses Maesters, or has the Erudite trait
- The Citadel to be in diplomatic range
- Have any of these traits:
- Scholar
- Astronomer
- Cartographer
- Traveller
- Linguist
- Erudite
- Lunatic
- Mystic
- Over 14 age, able to press claims (Not in hiding, etc.), and not elsewhere on a mission (Like reaving)
And I presume the Way of Life Monks and Mystics DLC.

I do have the Way of Life, but I don't have the Monks and Mystics, that adds societies. Still, being able to use modded societies does not require this dlc - it is part of the free expansion. That is why I can see the Alchemists guild and join it when the requirements are met. The Banking societies seem to be working too. But the Citadel doesn't even show in my list of societies Oh, well...

Whoops, you're right, I meant Monks and Mystics.
I loaded the save you uploaded in your thread and the Maesters show up in the list of societies for me. I'd remove the mod directory, and just to be safe the interface and map directories of the "Crusader Kings II/A Game of Thrones/" directory, then redownload and reinstall the mod. I've had weird bugs like this when incrementing from old versions and had to do a clean mod reinstall.

To further isolate your problem I disabled Monks and Mystics and reloaded your save, and there wasn't a Maesters Society, but there were the banks and alchemists'. Starting a new game yields the same result, so it looks like you need to have Monks and Mystics to enable the Maesters Society.
I doubt that's related to your other Maester problems in that thread though.
