Was working totally fine yesterday but now I can't even get the game to start with the A Game of Thrones mod activated. After I start the game in the launcher, it just immediately terminates the application as if I've quit. No notification of a crash or anything, the game doesn't even show the loading screen, it just closes. Is this because of the recent Great Works update or am I just exceptionally unlucky?

Probably. Roll back or wait for an update

Yeah, rollback seems to be doing the trick. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me!

www.dropbox.com/s/k1ek1zpa9xno8aa/defines.lua?dl=0change the define.lua in mod\A Game of Thrones\common\ by this and it will work again. No need to roll back
edit: for curious people the new dlc added a new entry in the define.lua :
NWonders = { MIN_LOOTABLE_STAGE = 2, -- The stage set here will be lootable but looting will automagically stop at after it has been looted and no looting will be possible below this stage CONVERTER_IGNORE_HISTORICAL_WONDERS = 1, -- If set to one then the historical wonders will not be transfered through the EU4 converter even if they have finished the final stage of construction. NON_CONCLAVE_COST_MULTIPLIER = 0.6 -- Without the Conclave tax laws the independent rulers will have significantly less income. }
any entry missing will cause an instant crash to desktop. So if you are getting an instant crash to destop, search there ^^

I have tried FIVE different older versions of the game and ALL of them have crashed my computer EVERY time. The application either quits unexpectedly as soon as I start the mod or it loads until it is 2/3 of the way to starting the game and freezes on the "Calling your banners" loading screen indefinitely. This is absurd, I have been trying to get this mod to work for over three hours now and of course the very day I buy the game and install the mod the developers had to release an update riddled with severe problems that prevent you from even opening the game. I have tried three different versions of the mod as well and nothing has worked. Do I really have to wait for the developers to fix this update before I can even play the game?

I can confirm that this fix works (Thank you, by the way!) perfectly. I wish I'd discovered it before I deleted my old saves.

agyleon I saw your post about changing the code but I can not find the file you mentioned, and I looked at your dropbox link and I don't know if this is supposed to be common knowledge but I have no idea where to start in that 100 pages of code that's in your dropbox. If theres a youtube video or a more thorough explanation you can give me I would really appreciate it. I'm very new to computer mods and going in and altering files of code is not something I am used to doing.

download the file (there a download buton on the top right corner.) and remplace C:\Users\******\Documents\Paradox Interactive\Crusader Kings II\mod\A Game of Thrones\common\define.lua, ****** being your username.
you don't need to understand the file just remplace the old file with the one i provided, it should fix your problem. I won't make a video-tutorial, but i could package it as a patch mod, if it's easier for you that way. You would need to know how to instal a mod manualy tho.
other then that, i don't realy know what to say to help you.

It should be noted, it seems like his ck2 game itself is pretty borked if even vanilla isn't opening. The update was a stable update near as I can tell so if installed properly should work fine-delete all files and then reinstall via steam if your base game is having issues running to make sure everything installed properly. Sometimes you just need to burn everything and then reinstall to get computer games to work. I'd advise making sure your vanilla game works prior to trying to replace the .lua, as if your vanilla install itself is borked then changing the lua wont help.

it was my understanding that it was vanilla Agot mod not vanilla vanilla XD if vanilla vanilla isn't working, that's a reinstall, check your driver etc. case

I drew that conclusion from him saying "The very same day the developers release an update riddled with severe problems that prevent you from opening the game." I could of course be stretching but that's what I got, if he would clarify and denounce me should I be wrong, it would be appreciated and I could bow out.
