Quick question, I was wondering why certain decisions seem to not be able to be made by AI characters - for example the hidden trigger for the employ a smith decision is
hidden_trigger = {
OR = {
ai = no
wealth = 250
yearly_income = 100
}
which seems to suggest that the AI cannot trigger the decision? Have I misread this or is the AI prevented from doing it for a reason?

Some things screw with the AI a bit much, or have seperate versions that are AI specific to deal with their questionable life choices. The AI isn't exactly the smartest in a lot of things so giving the same decisions and events for them can sometimes lead to the AI not knowing at all whata they're doing or being incapable of planning far enough ahead.
For instance, in the dragon egg ambition there's a seperate list of much easier requirements for the AI to utilize since quite simply the AI can't just casually save up 1000 gold most of the time, so they have a lot of extra text to help gate their thinking in the event and also to gate the event firing for them under different conditions. Dragon hatching/taming also has slight differences due to AI limitations I believe, and some councilor jobs such as the nightwatch's councilor jobs to acquire recruits and funding is handled completely differently than a player does.

Interesting - but why is finding a smith blocked off it seems a fairly simple one - if a character has armour, a weapon and a crown the ai won't select the option anyway and getting a weapon and armour is actually a fairly sensible thing for an ai to do?

I see, awesome thanks.
