Hello all, I am currently attempting to update Targaryen Invasion of Europe; for the current version of CK2, and I am doing okay so far (I believe).
So far I have completed:
1) High Valyrian GFX and Culture integrated into CK2 2) Artifacts such as Valyrian Steel and the Crowns (yes I even was able to get the crowns to appear on any characters head)
That is about as far as I have gotten so far, I spent a lot of time removing a lot of stuff to avoid conflicts with the updated version of CK2, I am new to modding (have never worked on a mod before, only did very small edits to suit my playstyle) and was hoping someone would be able to help me, maybe overlook what I did so far and help me fix a few errors I have (such as weird lines on the map) and the biggest task of all, making dragons work in Europe.
Thank you for reading this!

So I have actually finished everything with the mod except for making the dragons work, if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. I can have the dragon egg artifact, but when I choose to select it to hatch, nothing happens.

This is awesome of you. I unfortunately can't offer any advice but I hope you manage to complete it soon!

Making dragons work properly involves a lot more than just getting them to appear in game. I'm not sure what the dragon system was when "Targ Invasion of Europe" was last updated or how much of it was included, but off the top of my head I can think of some things that would be involved.
You would have to copy all of the decisions and events related to dragons/hatching/taming and then go through them all removing any instances of AGOT specific traits/cultures/modifiers and replace them with the vanilla equivalent where applicable.
Some of those events would have to be heavily modified because they are intimately connected to other AGOT specific things. For example you can't include the ability to ruinize a province with your dragon without also including the ruin/colonization system. You also won't be able to have the dragon intel events to help with hatching without going through and changing all the intel provinces to vanilla provinces.
In order to have them work properly as non human characters, you would also have to go through about 90% of the events and event chains in the game and place a limit banning them from firing for the dragon culture. This is the fiddliest and most tedious part but not doing it will result in people seducing dragons, playing chess with them, placing them on the council and drinking with them at feasts etc. CK2 syntax has changed a bit in the last couple of years, so even if the old version of "Targ Invasion of Europe" includes event files that have already had this done, they will likely need to be completely redone to be compatible with current CK2.

I actually started to work at this mod but i didnt make neither 20% of your work. So, can you give us a date of release? Did you keep the hairstyles of the main mod?

I am very close to completing what I would call a very stable version. I have gotten nearly everything completed save for the map, adding Dragonstone and such. The map is proving the be a real pain, and I am having trouble making it work properly. I am hoping soon that I will get the map finished however. To be honest, everything else is basically done (could probably work on balancing things a little bit more).
I have basically taken the original code from the Targaryen Invasion, completely broke it all down, and basically rebuilt everything as it was way out of date, there is very little that I kept from the original mod.

So... anyone would answer about the status of the mod? I really want to try this with the new version! The guy who was working on it, bdrro, hasn't posted in this thread in over six months. I think it's safe to say that the project has been abandoned.

And no one want to pick up the project? Someone of the team AGOT, maybe?

And no one want to pick up the project? Someone of the team AGOT, maybe? Not a chance, the amount of busywork involved as pointed out by Toccs is enough by itself to ensure that most people would commit suicide before making it halfway through. But perhaps you might be interested yourself, palaflou?

I really want to, but I do not understand anything about modding! Even if I learn how to do it, the game doens't exist anymore at the time!
