I have been playing this current session for around 200 years and each 1st day of each month there is like a 5 second freeze. I'm playing with no submods and the checksum is the right one.
Is this inevitable or is there some way to avoid it? Other than that this build is pretty stable for me with only a few sporadic crashes.
Thanks!

Is there any chance auto-save is set to happen on a monthly basis?

I get this same issue, and i have auto-save set to yearly. But I have also been getting it for most versions, so not a new thing. Its only about 1-2 seconds in reality, but its jarring when on high speed.

Auto save is disabled since I play on ironman. I have the impression that the freeze duration is increasing with time. Mine is about 5 seconds at the moment, but if other people have experienced I guess that's normal. It's not a major issue anyway, just a little annoyance.

Chiming in to add my own report and bump this up in hopes of a solution. Having the same issue on some saves past the 30-40 year mark. First few decades are smooth as butter and then the slowdown and crunch happens. By around 120-140 years in it's painfully slow. Specs: CPU: Intel Core i7-6700K @ 4.00GHz (Overclocked to 4.5GHz) GPU: NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2080 RAM: G.Skill RIPJAWS DDR3-2400 x 32GB OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit I'm assuming this is related to something generated in the game itself, slowdown only happens after a long period of gametime. Maybe dynamic character IDs are starting off too high? Too many courtiers? No idea. All I know is it varies depending on which bookmark I use and how long I've played (obviously )

I have the same issue ~ 100 years into the game it gets quiete annoying
Maybe it‘s related to events looping over the amount of living charcters? I know that paradox fixed performance issues in the past by changing this looping behaviour (e.g. they filtered out dead characters from the looping)

I could post my uncompressed save-file once I run into this hiccup again, not sure if that would shed any light on what's going on... but it definitely seems related to character culling/dead characters and events tied to them. Once you're 100 years in there's 100 years worth of dead courtiers and presumably dead important characters with events tied to them.
