The event 'nightswatch.2' when fired from the console does not resolve. The dialogue box comes up 'this character wants to take the black, blah blah', but allowing them to do so doesn't do anything. They just stay where they are and don't gain the black brother trait.
Sending a character to the Wall (disinheritance decision) also doesn't resolve properly. They leave for the Night's Watch then, once a day has ticked over, they return to court (but still hold the black brother trait).

We dont design things with the console in mind Sending a character to the Wall (disinheritance decision) also doesn't resolve properly. This is a hardcoded quirk of the game engine, sometimes it just wants to teleport people where it wants.

Thanks for the response. We dont design things with the console in mind. I'll bear this in mind in the future. I had intended to use this event for clean-up duty when using a custom character. Is there a workaround?

Unfortunately there is no real workaround. There is a maintenance event that will move him to the wall, but then the game engine is likely to just reverse it if it feels like it.
