Screenshot attached: puzzle goes as usual, but then animal icons aren't on the pillar buttons, which makes the puzzle impossible to complete unless you're super lucky (I am not). Not super stressed as I can just revert a save but definitely annoying. Newest version of the mod and game, only submod running is Bloodlines, but the process of starting a new game with it disabled and then going through the Valyrian Steel event to replicate the issue would take me more time then I'm willing to spend (sorry). If that's the problem, I'm sorry for wasting yall's time! Thanks for everything yall do, this is the best mod for any game ever. . imgur.com/a/wD3UqR9

You can fix it (I think) by copying the old code for event wikid.35 from 1.6.1's wikid.txt file in events folder to 1.7's.
Won't be displaying as they intended it in the new version but it should allow you to complete the riddle.

I just did a diff on character_event wikid.35 between 1.6.1 and 1.7.0 (from the installs I grabbed) and they're the same script block. I see ./gfx/traits/eagle.dds and I see the trait defined wikideagle = { customizer = no } in ./common/traits that is referenced by the event but I don't see where the trait definition is linked to the *.dds file?
The only other place I see it referenced is in the localization...

You compared (mod folder)/events/wikid.txt in both 1.6.1 and 1.7? There was definitely a difference for me in wikid.35 and copying the old code for that event into the updated file fixed this for me.

Nope, looked again with a different online diff tool that apparently works. 1.6.1 is `add_trait` and 1.7.0 is `show_trait`. Will try with the 1.6.1 version. Thanks!
