Hmm… Mind some suggestions? Don't want to impose, just like to brainstorm. Sometimes makes me sound a little pushy if I dive head first into it.
So, first thing first: How about a separate Dayne culture? I can't recall their features off the top of my head, they do sound like West Valyrian, and Ashara might as well have been kin to Baelor Breakspear or Aegor Bittersteel by the look of her, but with the lore's insistence on them old folks not being Valyrian but something far more primordial, a separate if similar culture might do them justice. If it's just gfx, then it's not like they're going to ride dragons or something, but still… Well, just a thought.
Also, how about making sure the Baratheons' strong seed always prevails over literally everything else, including especially Lannister genes? This is making me think about Jon Arryn's research, where the results indicated past Baratheon-Lannister genes always resulted in a full-on dark Baratheon look. Ironically, this could help Baratheon players identify non-paternity events — or just obsess over the suspicion. (Or just type 'real_fathers', I guess. ) For gameplay reasons, I suppose this wouldn't be ideal, but let's say only if the child carries the Baratheon name, as we certainly don't want Lannisters to turn black for all future generations just because of a Baratheon mum.
Next, I think the books make it look like the inheritance of dynastic looks is mostly a first-gen thing outside the proper agnatic dynasty, even largely excluding bastards. I kind of half-expect Baelor Breakspear's kids to be 'reset' to full-on Targaryen mode just because of the name, but not Bittersteel's, not even in Calla's 'right'. So it kind of looks like even though you yourself may have an odd look for your dynasty, your kids will (mystically, I guess) revert to the same old 'strong seed'.
The Starks' traits should probably be relatively weak. There is some such thing as a typical Stark look, but quite possibly nothing more than the typical Joneses in real life, or just a little stronger than that. Arya, Jon, Lyanna, Ned, okay, I get it. But Sansa and Robb still got Tullified more easily than a Baratheon kid would have. Probably the same goes for everybody else except for the Baratheons (most of all), Lannisters (close second but clearly weaker), Daynes (who knows, not enough data) and the Valyrian club.
Wouldn't even have thought about the Umbers or Mormonts re: strong seed. That's quite perceptive.
Finally, given how 'strong seed' seems to operate in the books, how about generating it for highly prestigious characters from other dynasties, especially if they have some rare, distinct characteristics already, let's say something like red hair and black eyes? I'm not saying they should become the next Targaryens or Daynes just because won a couple of wars, but perhaps some 'assisted propagation' of the same old familiar look, like Arryn or Tully. Or let's say if you by 'accident', i.e. normal inheritance of appearance, end up having three recent prestigious ancestors with a very similar look, then that could become your 'semi-strong seed' and receive assisted/improved propagation.
Just thinking anyway. Good work!
