I checked and my version is from January 27th I released new updates today, but will load up the game right now and check up on the Stark's & Ashara Dayne etc. Do you know if the Vanilla MB 3.0 had any of these issues by chance? Cause the Stark's family tree was very messed up to begin with for me. Very possible I simply fixed one branch only to break off another by accident though LOL. I just downloaded the new update and checked, I didn't see that an update had already been released today. The Stark family tree has been fixed, I have no idea about Vanilla MB 3.0, although I like the new things it brought, especially in Robb's gameplay with the Vale being able to join him and the Manderly making a fleet, I remember It came with bugs and the fact that I couldn't use portraits because they weren't updated to 3.0 made me stick with 2.2+portrait mod, i can't play without portrait mod. Ashara Dayne bloodline still doesn't appear for me, when I was using the other version I only added it to the Dorne document on the date Ashara was born and it was working normally.

Thanks for letting me know! *Edit: have uploaded the new PO + MB and checked in-game to confirm, and "The maid with the laughing purple eyes" is back!

It's almost certainly a MB 3.0 thing, but it's as if the bastards' surnames had disappeared, if you don't legitimize a bastard, he automatically gains the surname of the other house, it's as if, for example, Ned didn't legitimize Jon, but he is the son of a lowborn mother, instead of carrying Snow as his surname he will not carry anything, and if he were the son of a noblewoman, Ashara for example, he would automatically carry the surname Dayne if it is not legitimized by Ned.(but I love the fact that bastards can maintain bloodlines)
Regarding suggestions for the characters' appearance, give Edmure Tully the "fiery red beard" as it is described. Playing as Jon in "A Feast for Crows" Stannis offers Val as a wife to Jon, but Val still doesn't resemble the Val described in the books, having brown hair instead of her "dark honey" blond, there are a lot of cool arts of her.

Using the most current upload of PO + MB, I no longer encounter a crash or otherwise on reload. Good work on the mixed GFX, by the way.

Yea, I think the surnames vary depending on if their father "recognizes" them as their bastard/or knows about them at all (if not, they will take the female noble last name, or none in the case of lowborn women), legitimizes/or not, cadet etc. Something really strange I noticed: new "secret bastards" that occur in-game will still sometimes look like their non-bio noble 'father' - even up to the point of matching his GFX culture (when neither of their real bio-parents are that GFX culture LOL). Awesome, love the insight on the characters - will look up some book descriptions and fan art for Edmure Tully and Val! Let me know if you have any other insights. :-D

How about any issues with the Northern House Banners mentioned on the previous page? Thanks! A lot of the mixed GFX portraits may be rare occurrences, or take some time to fully be noticeable in game (aka when mixed children hit 15 and transform into adults lol); but, I like having the variation and somewhat realistic genetic outcomes - rather than just 50/50 btw different parents. I will be tweaking many of the current portraits for symmetry going forward as well (for example, Westerman females are still kinda weird looking lol).

Should I only use your "AGOT Portrait Overhaul - PO + Mixed Ethnicities" patch? Without vanilla "AGOT Mixed Cultures & Religions Mod"? Using all the 3 of my recent uploaded PO Mods & Vanilla Mixed Ethnicities together: - I haven't personally experienced the CTD (including with loading saved games) or the issues with the North Houses etc for some reason... (but I know other people have, and Vanilla 'Mixed Ethnicities' may still be impacting other MB events atm etc...).
If you still facing major issues, I would recommend (while I work on the Bugs) trying: - Using PO - Base, Po + Mixed Ethnicities & Vanilla Mixed Ethnicities (WITHOUT Vanilla MB & the PO + MB).
OR - If using Vanilla MB 3.0: PO - Base, PO + MB (WITHOUT Vanilla Mixed Ethnicities & Po + Mixed Ethnicities). I have still built in mixed GFX portraits for children/characters born of mixed unions into PO - Base & PO + MB at the very least.
If these approaches are still not fixing the issues you've had (apologies in advance ) or cause others, I will be doing my best to fix the bugs and appreciate your insight and patience! Thanks. Don't worry and take your time. We will wait as long as you need. It's better make it right than quickly.

At present, I am two generations into a Dance of the Dragons play through and so far so good. Will dive back in later tonight to continue getting a look. Also, noticed you gave Aegon II his mustache. Nice, lol

New Updates (Spoilers) Including:
User Recommendations: • Lengi Men: Improved male mouths. • YiTish & Lengi: Fixed hair disappearing in command/battle (short-term fix, will add their unique military helmets). Thanks for the heads-up lonny2023!!!
New MB & Updated Cultures: • MB Minor Houses: All now have unique GFX portraits & features (Bolton, Blackwood, Dondarrion etc.). • Fixed Broken MB + PO portraits (Krakenmen etc).
• Qartheen-Lowborn: New GFX portraits (previously Sarnorian).
• Carcosian: New GFX Culture. • Mornish: New GFX Culture (Morn Mountains/Passes).
Updated GFX Portraits: • Westerosi Female Portraits: Improved necks & ears (often mispositioned). • Reachmen: More distinct. • Former Southron: Now a mix of Andal & Northman features (previously were just Andal).
• Urban-Braavosi & Andalosi: Improved feature positioning.
• Ghiscari: More variation. • Lhazareen: Distinct from Dothraki appearance.
• Hyrkoon: Fixed broken portraits + more variation. • Jogos Nhai: Now bald with pointy-cone-heads (Yay head-binding)!!! • N’ghai: More distinct • Grey Wastelanders: Siberian/Jurchen influence.
• Naathi: More distinct.
New GFX Portraits for Preexistent Cultures: • Free Cities: All now have unique GFX Portraits (save for Essarians, for now!). • Tolosi & Elyrian: More distinct (Post-Doom Ghiscari influence). • Norvoshi: New minor Axeman Culture (Axe peninsula).
• Albinos: Some ethnicities have small chance for Albino children (GRRM Cannon - I know RL humans with Albinism don't have red-eyes LOL).
• Summer-Islanders: 5 new GFX portraits & 7 new Cultures (Summer-Rhoynar on the "Isle of Women" etc.).
• Gogossosi: New portrait (previously Myrman; but, given the history, gave them a mix of Valyrian & Ghiscari features). • Summer-Sothoryos: New Mixed Pirate Culture.
• Dothraki: 2 New Dothraki GFX/Khalasars (Tribe/Clans).

Ancient Races: • Brindlemen: Was tired of their old portraits! Blame GRRM, previous portrait’s precedent (& possibly ‘Homo habilis’) for their… uhm, unique looks? • Giants: Semi-in progress; look more human compared to their book descriptions... let me know your thoughts! • Thousand Islanders: Have resurrected the Fish People (mixed Deep Ones?)! Albeit, temporarily no green skin, having issues converting to dds...
Character History: • Plenty o' updates!
Eastern Eggs: • Left some very small Easter Eggs & Teasers regarding ASOIAF history, lore & fan theories (((*cough 🍋*))) etc. MB Bugs: • Fixed a bunch of Bugs regarding character ID's, birthdays, family-trees etc, etc. User Note(s) & Bugs: Please let me know about any bugs you find (especially if they are distinct from the vanilla MB mod)! With your help, we can essentially BETA test (far quicker than me trying to play every culture etc lol) before releasing an official Submod - possibly with Choochoo. Appreciate it, thanks for being patient everyone!
User Note(s) Improvements & Ideas:
Love to Hear and Greatly Appreciate Your (The Players!) Ideas & Input on: • Character Cannon: how I can make characters reflect ASOIAF (features, traits, hair & eye colour, culture etc.). • Culture Cannon: how I can make X culture reflect ASOIAF better (names, features, hair & eye colours, culture etc.). • On anything else frankly!
For example, I shifted Tolosi and Elyrian clothing & features slightly towards Slaver's Bay Post-Doom (as we have Cannon history mentioning their orbit moving towards Meereen etc., & Hizdahr zo Loraq has kin & influence etc.). What are you thoughts on this?
Most Importantly, a Big Thanks to Choochoo, Mixed Cultures (lordaelroy), the MB Team & anyone else who has contributed their hard work for the amazing foundation to work with for this compatch to come to fruition! Hope you enjoy!

Playing as Jon in "A Feast for Crows" Stannis offers Val as a wife to Jon, but Val still doesn't resemble the Val described in the books, having brown hair instead of her "dark honey" blond, there are a lot of cool arts of her. Made some of the changes requested for character DNA/Portraits: - Edmure Tully: now has a "fiery red beard".
- Val: new features, light eyes, dark honey hair (gave her braids as 'one long braid' isn't an option for Wildlings atm lol).
- Dalla: couldn't find much about her appearance (other than being "very-pregnant"), but I gave her some features in common with Val.
- Mance Rayder: changed his features a bit (greying/brunnette now etc).
- Sylvi & her brother Cotter: Sylvi has "cyan eyes, pale skin, and snow-white hair". Other than them not being 'fully-cannon' characters, sort of 3 possibilities here: 1) She has Albinism; 2) She has unknown Valyrian heritage; 3) White-blonde hair is just a very rare trait among Wildlings & Westerosi lol (sort of like Tommen "Baratheon", Lady Alerie, Justin Massey I guess). I just decided on giving her mixed Northman & Valyrian features.
- Boltons: lightened the Bolton's eyes and skin a bit (will continue to tweak).
Let me know what you think!

Let me know what you think! I really liked these new DNA/Portraits, especially Val and Sylvi changes! Mance Rayder looks really cool, and there really isn't much description about Dalla other than her being pregnant, but the portrait is very good. Sylvi and Cotter are names I definitely wasn't expecting to read, I played the Telltale game a long time ago and it unlocked old memories (I think Sylvi is just albino or suffers from something that affects her hair pigmentation, but we will never know the truth LMAO), they're not particularly important characters, but if you're interested take a look at the other characters in the Telltale's game, the houses Forrester and Whitehill and the Glenmore siblings for example. About the changes you made to the Boltons, I tested to see what Roose's children would be like, some of them inherited his eyes they looked really cool with them! I took a look at the wall looking for Cotter(I forgot he wasn't there yet) and noticed that Jorah doesn't appear as the son of Lord Commander Jeor, Jorah only has his mother in the family tree, in terms of appearance, if I'm not mistaken, both have a beard and a balding hairstyle in the books. I think there really is a bug in the bastard system, if you don't legitimize the bastard, regardless of whether you acknowledge or denounce the child, they are born with the mother's surname and dynasty(they shouldn't because they haven't been legitimized by the other house), they are not born with "Snow" or "Flowers how they should for example, even in Jon's bloodline it says Jon "Stark" and when you look in the "court" tab of the night's watch he also appears to me as Jon Stark instead of Snow(but his name on the portrait is Jon Snow), the Sand Snakes also appear in the tab court with the surname Martell instead of Sand, I think it is related, make a test in-game when you have time and I think you will understand It's a little confusing to explain.

There are a few suggestions for future updates: 1. View error.log and use Audax.Validator - typos, syntax code errors with each update more and more. And of course they matter, some events don’t work, some portraits are incorrect 2. PO Base\landed_titles\essos_titles2 and essos_titles3 - it's a bad idea. All you have to do is: allow = { hidden_tooltip = { NOT = { culture_group = winter_group } } capital_scope = { kingdom = { title = FROM } } #prevent early forming } dothraki="Qevir Dorvi" Harro-Dothraki="Qevir Dorvi" Rovo-Dothraki="Qevir Dorvi" #dothraki_domain_culture="Qevir Dorvi" The game certainly supports that a number of cultures have unique title naming And all these changes should be in just one original essos_titles I remember some submod using the same method, but it’s a bad example for modding 3. New cultures - another bad idea. All events, decisions and others work only with "dothraki" culture. And for new cultures you have to correct the entire game code, a good example will be Congenital Overhaul he just added new traits and for this reason had to make its changes in more than half of the original mod files. And the question: Have you asked the author about his work for his next update? Quite a lot was ready-made. And should we believe that Choochoo will return to Portrait Overhaul or not?

Agh! Well...progress in the right direction... At first, I couldn't replicate this Bug on my end (even on saved games); but, looked at every title across Planetos & finally found the error in Carcosia. Will make it easier for trial & error now. Thank you for the input.

"error.log and use Audax.Validator": will utilize more! Did you find/notice which "portraits are incorrect" for instance? 2. "essos_titles2 & essos_titles3": Greatly appreciate the info. Agreed. I massively backtracked/simplified/separated the 'essos_titles' files to see if I could narrow down & fix CTD (which did solve the religion tab CTB); but, definitely a mess ATM. 3. "New cultures": 100%! Especially for the Dothraki as they have A LOT of unique events etc. Have been working on doing just this (changing a lot of original mod files - which I haven't incorporated yet) for their 2 new tribes. BUT, I should simply 'axe' them for now until I finish & beta test... (as they have been the source of Many of the Bugs LOL). Short term: Tried to limit many of the new cultures to ruins or minor areas for now. Long term: Have been working on adding Vanilla events, decisions but also unique events for the new cultures as well. 4. TBH Choo has had some serious personal issues (won't go into detail for privacy)... he has communicated wanting to complete the Dragon portraits, & even COTF, some Westerosi & Essosi portraits. I haven't pushed for any timelines etc though as I want to be respectful/give him space etc. Really appreciate the insight and info! Doing my best, but definitely went a bit over my head... think I will simplify for now; but, will keep working on it!
