I have played a lot with different characters in the Triarchy of Volantis (Essosi valyrian patricians, rhoynar vassals, volantene vassals, etc) since it is, perhaps, the Free City with the best flavor. We have the elections, the parties, the well integrated fact that a valyrian minority rules over vassals from another culture, etc. So, since the developers of the mod have done an excellent and complete job in all aspects, I didn't miss this little detail: Link: AWOIAF - VolantisHowever, when I tried the interesting Rise To Power submod adapted to AGOT and observed a bug (one of the volantene vassals had become a patrician, exceeding the number of the five families) I played with it and appears the commemorative horse race event. This had not happened before and I don't know why. What are the requirements for this event? Why didn't it appear before? Does it usually appear to you? Did I ignore something? Thanks. Pd: Sorry for my english.

It's been a while since I played CKII but isn't the Volantis Horse Race connected to their elections somehow? I think maybe you can sponsor them when you're running for an election. Or maybe I'm getting confused by something else. Could it actually be anytime the holder of Old Volantis hosts a feast that the special race is included in that feast's flavour text?

the second is true: If the holder of Old Volantis is hosting a feast there is a chance for the horse race event to be triggered

Yes. I have also been able to see that patricians who throw a party also have the option.
