I am looking to increase the chances to take prisoners after a siege. If I'm not mistaken it is event-based, and if the event to take prisoners actually fires, it targets the family of the province owner.
Now, initially I've been save-scumming a lot, but after literally dozens of times doing that I have yet to get even a single prisoner. Current test target is a duke-tier vassal under an empire tier, if that matters. The owner is present, not commanding or in hiding, and neither are present family members.
Is it just a very low base chance? Are there traits/character flags that increase/decrease chances? Does the casus belli or type of vassal matter?
I already have a small mini-mod in place to which I could add or change any event files, but if i saw correctly AGoT handles prisoner capture during sieges differently. Any help would be appreciated!!

Check to see if they've gone into hiding. When your capital is besieged there's an option to go into hiding until the war is over, and one option includes your family as well. (It might be called something different from going into hiding, but it should be displayed as a character modifier IIRC, so check the lord whose capital you are besieging. )

I did mention they're not in hiding. I'll check out that mod! Seems to be exactly what I need!
Edit: the mod did the trick. Interestingly enough, the AGoT version of it did not. Still wondering why I couldn't take any prisoners at all without it though.
Edit 2: Shouldn't there be a mass execute button on the slide-out tab in the prisoner screen? It's missing for me... Does a mass execution have some other requirements I'm forgetting?
