I don't see how that can be caused by this mod. I don't do anything special with HVs.

Idea for the mod
After conquering Essos as Aegon the game gives you a number of provinces as possible capitals. How about one of those is Oros as an advanced colony?
It wouldn't be as OP as Valyria itself but let's you get in position to colonise the Lands of Always Summer and a few hundred years later Valyria proper.
I guess the usual capital people choose is Volantis as it's the closest one to having a Valyrian capital.
It wouldn't screw with you colonising provinces to Essosi Valyrian as Volantis does. Which I frankly after all those years still not understand.

Interesting idea, I'll put it on the list.
Colonies becoming Essosi Valyrian is easy to explain, a colony will take your capital holding's culture and religion EXCEPT for when your capital is Volantis or Old Volantis, where it will use Western or Essosi Valyrian depending on what continent the colony is on. That's also why colonies either get a seemingly random culture (actually your capital's), or stay the same.
I have a personal mod that overhauls colonization so this doesn't always happen, it's a bit too unstable to release yet though.

I've actually encountered the opposite.
Whenever my capital is Volantis and I colonise the area North of it the provinces turn Volantene and Rhollor, while they should switch to Essosi Valyrian and Valyrian.
Oh and regarding the idea, though no clue if it's possible. Perhaps it could first give you Rhyos as the first provisional capital. And after you've had it as a full province for X years an event would pop up and give you the "option" to relocate to Oros. There you'd get a couple of King's Landing like holdings like in Volantis.
And if you actually decide to colonise Valyria proper another event would follow to relocate that stuff to Valyria.

I posted it in another thread a while back, but I have some Valyria-centric resources you might find useful? sta.sh/21eriwxdugqs?edit=1Basically, I noticed the World of Ice and Fire book had a map of intact Valyria, so traced it while making a note of where the mountains were, and then added in rivers from that and the Lands of Ice and Fire maps, and made up a few based on where land had collapsed into the sea. I was toying with implementing this into the Improved Borders mod at some point (so that way it could also work with the official sub-mods as well), but I figure it'd make more sense to pool resources than to make two versions of the same thing...

I saw it, it looks interesting, but I think I'm going to stick to using the main AGOT landscape for convenience sake. If you do make the changes for IB I'll just adapt my Colonizable Valyria to it -- I've made a little progress in expanding the mod, main change is that I've learned how to dynamically re-assign holy sites so in a future version I'll be making the holy sites for the Valyrian religion include Valyria proper and Oros, removing Mantarys and Old Ghis.

Yeah Old Ghis never made much sense.

Welp, ask and ye shall receive. I've just updated my mod with the Valyria map I was working on...extra rivers, new hill layout, sea provinces forming the outline of pre-Doom Valyria, etc. If it's any help, although it's not in my mod at the moment, I did draw up plans for the ducal layout; sta.sh/0216e1m9ha8gThe four island provinces circled in the Smoking Sea were meant to be wasteland - their names indicate that they're volcanoes from the Fourteen Flames - but up to you if you want to keep them that way or have them be colonisable.

Update for 2.0 is in first post.
Includes a redrawn terrain, no changes to province layout or new events.

Oh my gosh this is excellent. i loved the old colonizable valyria mod but if valyria were to be whole then itle be even better.

So, I'm going to add more provinces back... but this time according to redrawn terrain. It will also be balanced more by removing most ruined settlements -- but you can rebuild, later on.
Testing it now, with some luck I'll be able to finish it before tomorrow.

New, rebuilt version is up in the first post -- this restores the multiple provinces from the first version, but has it a lot more balanced with far fewer holdings existing from the start. I've also made some code improvements so it's a lot easier to maintain, and it should no longer conflict with anything. New in this version: - Multiple provinces from the pre-Doom mod restored
- Now properly works with the new Valyrian road system
- Holy Sites for the Valyrian religions will be re-assigned to Valyria and Oros on the mod start
- Fixed a bug with the firewyrm slayer nickname
- Did some tweaking on the trade route in Valyria for those that don't use my trade routes mod.
- Renumbered the new provinces on the unused spots in vanilla, since AGOT 2.0 still doesn't use them either -- this should make it easier to keep compatible with other map mods
Uploaded new images from the current version.

I found a bug. I am currently colonizing Valyria and an event popped up saying :"The lands of Valyria are rife with disease, and one particularly virulent one, the Gray Plague, has reached Valyria." and every time i hover over it the game crashes.

Seems I accidentally left it enabled, will fix later today. The disease system isn't working yet for me.
