I second that. If not possible, how about putting at least city of Yeen in to the mod? Yeen is one of the counties in Northern Sothoryos, already in the mod.

So by everyones logic here are you saying that if i were to use the westeros only mod it would SIGNIFICANTLY reduce lag and improve performance or should i not bother?
So the things that cause lag from Essos are things like the slavery system and all it's maintenance events which are used by pretty much every realm in Essos. The fact that there are 13 republics on the map (there are like 3 or 4 in vanilla) each with all the events for running elections and some using custom election mechanics and also the amount of nomads on the continent.
The actual size of Essos in terms of amount of characters is not really an issue as the vanilla map has significantly more characters on it than the mod does at any given time.
Westeros Only reduces lag by removing all of those maintenance events and systems from the game which leaves only the feudal realms of Westeros and only 1 empire tier title to do Mega Wars. It doesn't actually change the physical size of the map anymore I believe, Essos is still there just not populated. It should help reduce lag on lower end machines and is especially helpful for multiplayer.
Okay thank you, Ill just tough it out then. I mean dont get me wrong late game lag is very annoying but id rather have all of Essos than just empty land there.
My question now is about the game crashes on a specific date. Does that happen because a maintenance event happens and it "misfires" or something? Would reducing the number of maintenance events via westeros only reduce the chances of a game date crash? Ive had tooooo many great playthroughs end due to those crashes haha

I second that. If not possible, how about putting at least city of Yeen in to the mod? It already is, bub. I'm partial to Mossovy, myself. Mossovy, and Children of the Forest realms for the pre-andal invasion bookmarks.

Yeah, but not the black city of the death and horrors - Yeen. Have you ever tried to colonize it? Once, but some event come up and I lost this province. Still, in the lore geographical position of Yeen is more south, so make sense to increase visible part of Sothoryos in the mod.

Thanks for the link. I don't see anything about allocating memory there. The only practical advice I see is in the final post of the thread which talks about disabling draw_water and so on - is that what you were referring to?

A question, two actuallty; Since the tribal mechanics have released I’ve wondered if it could be used instead of the Megawar system, would a modified tribal system work as a less demanding “Vanilla” alternative for Megawar? Could the Suzerain system as well may work as something similar? I believe a reworked Tribal system or Suzerain System may better represent the relations between the IT and the LPs who are essentially kings in their own right that pay now use the title lord and pay tribute but still hold great power. If possible, using a modified Suzeraincy would also have the benefit of giving us an additional tier, which I believe would also help represent better some highlords’ relation with their LPs and other lords, Hightowers being the foremost example.

i still don't understand why the iron thrones slow down the speed of like 80%, with westeros run really really fast if the iron throne is fragmented or doesn't exist
