I like the idea of the mod but the Dragons should have different portrays till they turn 15. I mean you can tame them before that and... you are basically taming an egg. I can tame an egg, quite a lot actually. They are in the refrigerator. I was conflicted as there is only a single dragon child portrait and if I made it a certain color and it grows up it just changes color. Like a black dragon baby portrait and it grows up to be Sunfyre the Golden hahaha. So I just made it a red dragon egg to make it more lore friendly (I know that dragon eggs are also colored and appear to indicate the color of the dragon inside.) What I may do is desaturate the dragon egg portrait to make it a suprise in what colour the dragon will be so it is more lore friendly.

how much colors dragons have in the mod? There is 27 Different Portraits, some are the same color but of a different shade.

Not much of a portrait modder but I think that it should be possible to set different images for children - BLG for example uses multiple portraits to reflect children growing - I think this is done via flags. Another way of showing different dragon colours would be an ethnicity system with a range of dragon ethnicities to enable different colours

Thanks for the suggestions

I just noticed that Dragons are given their color from hidden traits for each portrait. I could probably find a way to work it for children as well but I am not making any promises just in case.

I mean at the moment they are eggs. I think the egg looks neat but man it's an egg that's supposed to represent a sometimes tamed dragon. Also isn't it the same for humans in the game? They sometimes have an ethnic specific look (Deyne, High Valyrian, Lannister...) but most characters look completely the same till they turn 15.

The issue is if you decide to name your dragon "sunfyre" "blacktooth" "redwing" etc and then it turns out they're bright green st 15 you have a problem and can't do anything about it. Being able to tell the colour of the dragon at birth would be very useful and would resolve the issue

Neat, i quite like the current Dragon portraits, Buuut, this spices things up and is more realistic to the lore. may not be best example but as we can also see in the show, Drogon, Rhaelinor and Rhaegar look completely the same except a bit different colours. Also i have like 50 living Dragons in my current save and they get the same portraits quite a lot, i think this'll make it more realistic. while on the topic though, is it save-game compatible? i know it's just portraits but don't wanna risk breaking my save, oh and i'm also Using Tubb's Better Faces. (I know it doesn't touch Dragon portraits, but still) Edit : Nevermind, works fine.

So your save will be fine along with Tubbs, which I also use I get what you said about the dragons on the show and I agree that it is more lore friendly and realistic, which is what I was aiming for, keeping in line with the canon descriptions of the dragons as well.

I don't know but I don't associate Sunfyre with a golden dragon, neither Blacktooth with a black dragon etc.

This mod is great! I think it should be added to the vanilla mod as this is better solution. I was always upset that dragon portraits in a game wasn't lore-wise (potrais with 6 limbs for example). You resolved that problem

You resolved that problem That would be up to the Dev but I want to try and make a baby dragon portrait system and thanks, I hope you continue to enjoy it!
