Chapter 8 False Kings, & More Tragedy
The walls of Kings Landing, stood proud, the Red Keep stood tall, and it was the banners of House Baratheon that hung overhead. Never did Aegon think when he entered Kings Landing that it would be as a failed pretender, but that is what his fate be, the small folk all came to see the man who claimed to be a dragon, but brought so low they sneered, many yelled out "Traitor!!!" others yelled out "Pretender!!!" nearly everyone threw something. The walk was meant to humble him, and what a long walk it seemed to be, the Gold Cloaks were out in force, Lannister guards lined the streets keeping the peace, and when he at last entered the Red Keep, it was not as he had imagined, one might almost have said to be careful what you wish for.

Joffrey, and the Queen sat side by side in the throne room, Joffrey on the Iron Throne, and Margaery on a smaller adjacent throne, Joffrey wore the Crown of his father, and their fathers before him the Storm Crown, while Margaery wore a golden crown in the shape of antlers with golden roses in the center symbolizing her houses importance. Lord Mace and Kevan, as well as the Dowager Queen were all positioned near the throne, the Gallery was full of courtiers, the Kingsguard were in full force to display the power of the Crown, and to protect the King, and Lannister and Baratheon as well as Tyrell men lined the room on the walk to the throne. The would be usurper was dragged in chains. Jaime Lannister, Lord Commander of the Kingsguard for his nephew King Joffrey I, knelt, "Your Grace, I bring you the false princeling" he announced to which erupted a cheer from the court. Joffrey motioned his hand for the applause to stop, and eyed the purple eyed pretender. "Your falseness is as plain as day for all the world and gods to see" he said. "You sit on my throne" came the reply from the would be usurper. Which earned him a punch in the face from an armored elbow of Ser Mandon Moore from the Kingsguard, "Watch your tongue pretender" Aegon stood defiantly "You should beg forgiveness from the one true king, I am the last dragon" he spoke. " Enough" Joffrey said eying Aegon, "You are no prince, you are no dragon, you are no Targaryen not that it would matter because my father killed Prince Rhaegar on the Trident and took the Iron Throne... my council tells me you are called ' Of Essos', to signify either your bastard status, or low birth it matters not, for you are a pretender, you will be remembered as a pretender, and I Joffrey of the Houses Baratheon and Lannister First of My Name sentence you to die" "Your Grace, if I may" said Dowager Queen Cersei "Yes, go ahead" Joffrey said motioning for his mother, and eying the pretender he spoke "My mother will speak to the pretender" he announced to the court. Cersei stood and eyed Aegon, a true mother lion protecting her son, "My son has sentenced you to die, and as he said it matters not who you are, but it seem only fitting that Ser Gregor be your jailor until it is time for your execution" she said motioning while calling out "Ser Gregor come forward" to which a huge man known as the mountain in all black armor stepped forward. "Ser Gregor is to be your jailor, seize this traitor" she said. If Aegon had held his pride, it melted away at the sight of the mountain, for his face turned pale.
Immediately following the short lived drama of the false dragon, it had come to time to formally recognize King Joffrey I as King of the Andals, Rhoynar, and First Men in sight of the gods for every year he remained uncrowned the small folk whispered of his unfitness to rule. His Holiness the High Septon, eagerly accepted the act of anointing Joffrey, even remarking that he was the greatest gift the Gods had ever put on this earth.
Nearly a year later, Margaery was once again in labor. The court was abound with anticipation for a much awaited royal heir, Joffrey who loved his wife dearly was eagerly awaiting to welcome his new heir into the world.

Oof, Joff is having a hard-ass time.
And shit. Aegon's down. Now I'm hoping for Dany to wreck your shit. Or maybe Jon Snow will discover his heritage and Ndd will declare for him.
I hate Lannister filth (with respect).

In all honesty, I'm a Targaryen loyalist. The only Baratheons I can tolerate playing are Stannis Baratheon and Edric Storm (married to Shireen). In the case of the former, I try to play a Maekar-style gameplay, and in the case of the latter I roleplay being a second "Jaehaerys the Conciliator," only pro-Faith this time (because of my lack of dragons).
The only Lannisters I can tolerate roleplaying are Lord Gerold's Golden Twins, as I can marry into House Reyne and get royal betrothals easily, which is fun.
The Starks are boring -- being an honorable lunk is boring.
The Arryns are boring -- being nominally loyal is boring.
The Martells can be interesting before the Targaryens conquer Dorne.
The Tyrells are never fun to play as, though I am preferential to playing as the Gardeners pre-Conquest.
In general, I also RP Riverlords and the Durrandon during pre-conquest bookmarks. Never a dull moment with seven kingdoms and a billion petty Riverlord kingdoms fighting the Ironborn.

We are OPPOSITE my friend, I’m a Lannister LOYALIST but I like playing Cersei’s branch of Baratheons, if I can’t trace my lineage back to Cersei I don’t wanna play every time Lyanna survives I’m LIKE CRAP. I also am preferential to House Tyrell, the ONLY times I don’t play Lannister games are for Tyrell runs when I opt to be loyal to the crown and concentrate on trying to inherit it, I feel like if given the chance the Tyrells would like to do to the crown what they’ve done with the Redwynes have several marriages back and forth and basically be cousins. I do like an OCCASIONAL Aegon VI game but it never lasts long, I’m really not interested in any game pre Roberts Rebellion although I’ve recently been reading up on DOD and have decided I side with the Greens lmao but that’s just because I like Alicent I don’t really like the “agnatic” only succession I got the one time I played through I felt like agnatic-cognatic would be more accurate because they were just fighting for male preference but I’m not knowledgeable enough on the period of time to know or comment that’s just my opinion on what I’ve read (which is small on that) The only two things I’ve never done and sort of want to do is play a Hightower game post Aegons conquest maybe even AFFC, and also Bolton Roose I think This AAR only has 2 maybe 3 chapters left, it was meant to go on for one more ruler but I hit a crashing bug so im gonna go off the screenshots I have, not really looking to do another AAR but if I did I think I would play a Tommen game and not start the AAR until 1-2 rulers post Tommen, maybe his son or grandson (this was going to be a Tommen game, but they said they're adding him being able to choose Baratheon, Lannister, or Baratheon-Lannister in the next update because it was supposed to be in this one but the event doesn't trigger) so I'm waiting for that

I don't necessarily dislike the Lannisters. I'm good for them pre-Robert's Rebellion, but I just can't stand Tywin Lannister or his heirs (except Tyrion, he's cool). Alicent reminds me of a somewhat nicer version of Cersei. More of a traditionalist than a psychopath. I personally don't know if there is a "good" side. I mean, both sides were so horrible. The only innocents were the children and a few of the women. Aegon II, Aemond One-Eye, Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Daemon the Rogue Prince were all horrendous people who were guilty of a variety of things from murder, to insane acts of sadism and insanity, to kinslaying, to (in the case of Daemon) molesting their relatives. The Blacks had precedent on their side, while the Greens had tradition on theirs. Personally, I prefer the Blacks, but I occasionally play the Greens. Also, that's sad. I hate the save corruption that's been happening a lot lately. That said, I'd advise you to only play up to 5-10 years in advance of each chapter. It allows you to foreshadow events, while adding an interesting narrative. Plus, if you do that and take frequent screenshots, you should be golden (pun intended).
