Perhaps save one; it ought to target any male child in your court, not just your own kids. After all, even the commoner children in your court are basically future men at arms/bodyguards. I agree. The way that it's coded right now is how it is in vanilla AGOT. I'll look into changing it so it doesn't just target the liege's children. I've also been testing a version with the job action only based on the Marshal's martial stat. I also made it so commanders, and therefore also marshals, required a minimum 10 in martial. So far the event hasn't fired for me even though my Marshals have had high martial stats (20+) and a good yearly chance (50%+) for it to fire; perhaps the aforementioned change may produce better results. If not, I'll roll back to the version previous version and implement the change to target any child in that one.

One simple thing I did that got results was to reduce the mean time to happen from 160 months to 120, but that was way too fast. Ironically, I never got the event for my sons, but both of them became formidable fighters while having guardians in other courts and the realm was overflowing with skilled and formidable fighters. So I think the 160 month mean time to happen is just right.
To expand on the training, and this is something to think about for the future, that I may try to add myself, perhaps children should have a small chance on success of gaining robust, shrewd, ruthless, and deceitful, ect, like with the force training event. Of-course these would be uncommon compared to just getting or not getting the fighter trait .

Maybe make it so the option where your maester informs you your relative has gained learning has say a 90% chance of giving learning and a 10% chance of shrewd?

Sorry, that back and forth between sourjapes and myself is for another submod I've been working on as an alternative to this one. I just posted the alternative, Marshal Matters. They both can still be used together if one so wishes of course. I just made Maester Warrior Tutelage as a sort of quick fix to help courtiers get better combat training in Westeros since Maesters are the default tutors. With my alternative mod, Marshals will not only train their liege's children, but other children in his court as well. So if a child is getting tutored by a Maester, they will still have a chance to receive combat training from the Marshal.

Submod is compatible with either AGOT 2.0 or 2.1. I also added an on_actions file so the events now fire at startup and on yearly pulse. The submod's name is also changed by adding AGOT at the beginning for mod list purposes.

Okay I am apparently too stupid to understand it. What's the difference between this mod and Marshal Matters?
You deserve a prize for that.

As far has children's educations, since this submod adds warrior traits to Maesters and Maesters are the default guardian/court tutor for children in Westeros, they'll be able to increase warrior traits for children as their guardian/court tutor; kind of like when your character has a warrior trait and the training event pops for any child you are a guardian of. Marshal Matters puts the train children job action from unmodded AGOT into the other job actions a Marshal has so the train children job action is no longer a separate job action.

Hi! Is this compatible with AGOT 2.2 and More Bloodlines mod? Yes, this submod only has a couple small custom events and doesn't change any AGOT files.
