Is it possible for someone to make a mod that allows me to send a npc to the citadel to make it a maester and it comes back automatically after becoming a maester or that fails in the process? I would like to be able to indicate mine and not depend on the random sending of the game.

I mean.... theoretically, yeah. You could probably make it yourself, look at the relevant lines of code in the base mod, and then see if you could emulate something similar to do your own thing. Or, just use console commands. THat's what i did a few versions back. Triggered the command for my son to say he wanted to go. Then triggered the commands to get him through the ranks. Killed my grand maester. Then triggered the commands to select my son as the new grand maester. Boom. Just so.

I don't think you should be able to per se pick your maester - the citadel seem to want to send highborn maesters away from their families to prevent them getting attached and serving their families not the castle (especially as castles can change hands) but I definitely think you should be able to fire a maester - tyrion did it with Pycelle, and if you get assigned an idiot you should be able to kick him out - maybe some sort of penalty with the citadel, requiring a higher donation or a year long ban on having a maester? Alternatively having multiple maesters isn't unheard of - if you are a certain rank you should be able to have more than one maester at your court with only one holding the council spot
