How can I get the mystic trait without just adding it via console? Is there an event chain I can activate or anything? I don't think I've ever gotten the trait in the mod or vanilla unless they already had it when I started as them but I've never aquired it as anyone.

In vanilla the scholarship focus lets you potentially get mystic depending which tree you go down, though dunno if that works in agot. Also you can't have another lifestyle already(Hedonist, duelist, scholar, architect, etc, all of them have the same shield shape to denote their status as a lifestyle trait).

As soulbourne said, in Vinilla if you go down the Scholarship focus and you build the observatory you'll eventually come to a point where you have to make one of two choices. You can either How do the Stars Move? or What weirdness is out there? You will want to choose the second option, "What weirdness is out there?" If you follow this all the way through, then you should get the Mystic perk and the Necronomican (which should give +5 learning) at the end of the event chain. In Vinilla, you can follow down this path to gain a bunch of culture technology points which is what I like to do inorder to change my succession laws. You can look up the event chain here: ck2.paradoxwikis.com/Scholarship

You can get it the same way in the mod as described for vanilla above. Note that that option will only be available once magic has returned, though. Otherwise, only the other path which leads to scholar or heliocentric scholar will be available.
